When everything is in its proper place in life and you heave a sigh of relief, that is exactly when life hits back at you! While our life is as unpredictable as it can get, a prerequisite to deal with this to have a firm belief that everything will fall back in its right order and continue forging with the difficulty. This is exactly what is happening with one of the most beautiful stars of B-town, Sonali Bendre. We all went in for a momentary shock when on July 04, 2018, Sonali announced to the world that she had been diagnosed with high grade metastatic cancer. Her Instagram posts reveal the way how bravely she is dealing with her illness and it must be encouraging millions. All that a person needs to deal with this nasty disease is a lot of courage and their loved ones by their side and Sonali has both of these ‘ingredients’ with her.
Do you know, ever since Sonali was diagnosed with the Big C and she decided to go to New York for her treatment, her sister, Rupa Ranadive has left everything and stayed with her sister? Acknowledging the same, Sonali took to Instagram and posted a couple of pictures with her sister, backed by a heart-wrenching note. The note began with a quotation by Pam Brown which could be read as, “An older sister is a friend and defender, a listener, conspirator, a counselor and a sharer of delights. And sorrows too. Pam Brown. Rupa Tai has been all this and more. She dropped everything in a heartbeat to be with me on this journey."
Her note could be further read as, “She has been my rock, my person, Rupa Tai was involved in my journey from when I was diagnosed to the time I was deciding the course of treatment to packing her bags and coming with me to New York. She was there from get-go. Her transition from one role to another was seamless. A dictator when I needed to eat right or take my meds or an empathetic counselor alternating between giving advice and offering silent support when all I needed was to be alone with my thoughts. She was around. She was with me and by me, at all times. Sisters share a special relationship. We are literally an extension of each other. For bad days, her presence did the trick and the good days...well, it just got better! Such a heartfelt note, right? Not only Sonali’s sister, the beautiful Hum Saath Saath Hain star is equally close to hubby Goldie Behl’s sister, her sister-in-law, Shrishti Arya. Revealing details and sharing a few words of encouragement for Sonali, Shrishti had shared sometime back, “Yes, it happened suddenly. Aisi sab baatein suddenly hi hoti hain. Sonali is a fighter. She will definitely prevail. She has a lot of positive energy. She will be back. We are all very grateful for the outpouring of love.” And we totally believe so!
Sharing an update about her health, Sonali’s hubby, Goldie Behl shared in an interview wit ANI, “Sonali is doing good. She is back for good. She is recovering very well. For now, treatment has ended. But the disease can come back so regular check-ups will be done.” After a prolonged treatment for over 5 months, Sonali is finally back in the town after showing humongous recovery. I have recently been diagnosed with a high grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them. She had concluded the post with, "And so, as advised by my doctors, I am currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. We remain optimistic and I am determined to fight every step of the way. What has helped has been the immense outpouring of love and support I’ve received over the past few days, for which I am very grateful. I’m taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me.”
