The makers of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai took a major risk when they opted for a generation leap on the show, as it made everyone disappointed with the exit of TV’s favourite bahu, Akshara a.k.a. Hina Khan. But after a dip in the TRPs, it eventually skyrocketed with the refreshing change of romance between the lead characters of the show, Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi. After Kartik and Naira’s sizzling on-screen chemistry, fans started rooting for Mohsin and Shivangi to pair up off screen as well. And it finally happened! Mohsin and Shivangi fell in love during the show and in 2017, they finally confessed their love publicly. Recently, the list of 50th Sexiest Asian Women 2018 came out and guess who made it to the fifth position this year? Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s Naira, Shivangi Joshi made it to rank 5, while she was at the 16th spot last year. The proud beau, Mohsin took to his Instagram story and congratulated his lady-love.
Mohsin posted a candid picture with Shivangi and wrote, "Congratulations @shivangijoshi18 5th Sexiest Asian Woman" atop of it. Shivangi was so happy with Mohsin’s gesture that she took no time to reply to her boyfriend’s post. Meanwhile, a few months ago, rumours were abuzz about ‘lover’s tiff’ between Shivangi and Mohsin stating that all is not well between the lovebirds. As per SpotboyE reports, a source was quoted as saying, “There is some sort of disconnect between Shivangi and Mohsin, they are not as warm with each other, as they used to be. While Shivangi and Mohsin remained tight-lipped about their break up speculations, it did not take a minute for the rumours mills to go wild with such conjectures. However, without giving any clarifications to such reports, Shivangi and Mohsin thwarted them with their appearance at the Gold Awards 2018. On June 20, 2018, Shivangi and Mohsin won the 'Best-Jodi' award for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai at the Gold Awards 2018.
Mohsin shared a picture with Shivangi on his Instagram, and captioned it, “There couldn't have been a bigger and more beautiful celebration!! Celebrating Togetherness Love Laughter..silly jokes.. intense scenes.. romantic songs.. 2 years. 600 Episodes and Truckload of memories..@Gold awards!!!”.
On the other hand, Shivangi too took her Instagram to share her picture with Mohsin posing with the awards in their hands, and captioned it, “Winning smiles..BEST JODI..Thankyou #goldawards @vikaaskalantri for making it memorable for us... #11thGoldAwards -@subtlesleeves”.
In 2017, Mohsin opened up about his relationship with Shivangi and had stated, “Several theories have been doing the rounds, including our link-up, but we didn't allow it to affect our friendship or work. In fact, there was nothing to talk about initially, since we were just friends. Our friendship graduated to love only recently; it's just been a month-and-a-half. We rang in the New Year with my family. Funnily, we haven't gone out on an official date yet, owing to our erratic schedule.”
Further speaking about the camaraderie between him and Shivangi, he added, “I am grateful that Shivangi and I got to work together. People accepted Kartik and Naira instantly and loved them. We have always enjoyed working together. We often get messages on all social media platforms and I try to reply to as many as possible”.
Revealing what he likes the most about his lady-love, Mohsin remarked, “I don't know what made me fall for her. I guess it's her innocence. We are still exploring each other. It has been a long friendship and a beautiful journey, which has now blossomed into love."
