It is said that for a couple, there is no greater joy than to hold their little girl in their arms. She brings a plethora of colours in her parents' life and they start created a barbie world for their princess. And that's what Smriti Khanna and her husband, Gautam Gupta has in mind as they had welcomed a little angel to their home in April 2020. The actress had shared a happy picture from the hospital room and had announced the arrival of her little princess. In the picture, we could see Smriti holding her little angel in her arms while her hubby, Gautam hugged her.
On May 1, 2020, Smriti took to her Instagram handle and shared the first-ever clear picture of her angel. In the picture, we can see Smriti kissing her sleeping beauty and it has been taken from the hospital room. Alongside it, the actress wrote a cute note that can be read as "There will never be a day, like a day you were born. Thank you for choosing me to be your mother. I promise to love you and protect you till my last breath", followed by a hear temoji. Check it out below :
After just six-days of delivering her little girl, Smriti had shared an Instagram story, wherein she was flaunting her fit-self. Her picture was definitely an inspiration for all the new mommies as she had flaunted her toned abs. Smriti had captioned the picture as "Postpartum Day-6". However, she had faced a lot of questions about how did she achieve it. Now, she posted a video on Instagram and answered all the questions of fellow mommies and her fans. In the video, Smriti revealed that she has not made any abs, and said, "I didn't make any abs after my delivery. It's not practically possible to have a body like that in 10 to 12 days." She further revealed, "I gained about 14 kg during her pregnancy and I lost about 4.5 of it in the delivery room and after that, I lost about 3 kg in 10 to 12 days. I am not following any exercise as assumed by other people. And you can't exercise up to 6 or 8 weeks after delivery."
Smriti shared how she naturally got back to her body shape, "I lost fluids because of breastfeeding. It will take time for my lower belly to go, otherwise I haven't put on weight on my face, arms or thighs." Smriti also stated that she had a normal delivery and preferred it that way since she believes that the body heals faster. She began by saying that through her pregnancy, she did simple workouts which included walks and pre-natal yoga.
The actress also busted the popular pregnancy myth of mothers having food in double portions. Smriti shared that it's not needed and pregnant women should eat in the quantities they desire and gradually increase it over a period. She also talked about breastfeeding challenges that she is facing. She shared she is taking classes and the help of a specialist for the same and realised now how difficult it is for some women to breastfeed their baby.
