The moment a couple embraces parenthood, their life takes a complete U-turn. From the carefree lifestyle to taking careful measures for the little one, a couple makes sure to do everything to welcome their tiny tot. In 2019, we had an array of celebrities who have embraced parenthood. Ekta Kapoor, Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij, Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani, Kapil Sharma and Ginni Chatrath and, Karan Patel and Ankita Bhargava, were some of the Tinseltown celebrities, who had graduated from couples to parents. And joining them is none other than, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi fame, Smriti Khanna and her hubby, Gautam Gupta. It was on November 24, 2017, when Smriti Khanna had gotten married to the love of her life, Gautam Gupta. She had become a trendsetter by ditching the traditional red bridal colour and went for a pink lehenga, minimal makeup and jewellery. Her hubby, Gautam had worn a pale blue sherwani with dhoti pants and a safa. The duo had looked like a match-made-in-heaven.
On February 16, 2020, Smriti Khanna took to her Instagram stories and posted pictures from her Godh Bharai ceremony. Smriti donned two different looks for the ceremony, for the rituals, she opted for a traditional red-coloured attire and later she donned a white dress. A few days before their second wedding anniversary, Smriti Khanna had posted a picture with her husband, Gautam Gupta, wherein the two were seen twinning in different shades of blue, as she gave a small peck on his cheek. While the picture was adorable on every level, it was the cryptic caption that had accompanied the post, made us speculate if a possible pregnancy is on the cards for Smriti. The caption could be read as “Mumma bear loves Papa bear”. She had later confirmed her pregnancy news. She had taken to her Instagram stories and had shared her ‘happiness’ upon feeling of the first kick of her baby. Her post had stated, “Happiness is… the first kick of your baby in your belly.” Atop which, she had written, “This feeling!” followed by a heart emoji. On December 23, 2019, Smriti had taken to her Instagram handle and shared a video of surprise planned by her friends for the soon-to-be mommy and daddy. In the video, the soon-to-be parents could be seen cutting the cake and wearing ‘To Be Super Dad’ and ‘Mom To Be’ sashes. Along with the video, she had written, “Mom-to-be and super dad-to-be fighting for balloons. Thank you @mona_arrora @anilvkumar04 sir for this surprise celebration... it was so so cute love you soooo much.”
In a mirror-selfie posted by Smriti Khanna, wherein the mommy-to-be could be seen flaunting her pregnancy glow in a blue romper with her hair tied in a ponytail, she had captioned it, “Wearing blue, not feeling blue.” To which, her friend, Kishwer Merchant had commented, “U are pregnant? From where baby? U look the same my god. Congratulations.” Smriti had replied, “@kishwersmerchantt haha ya haven’t gained on my face. thank you” followed by heart emoticons.
Smriti Khanna’s hubby, Gautam Gupta had turned 31 on April 13, 2019, and his wife had given him the surprise of a lifetime. Sharing a picture of a passionate liplock and also a glimpse of the gift that she had given him, Smriti had written, “Happy birthday to the love of my life @mistergautam. Two years back you gave me the best surprise on this day. Hope you liked my surprise. Ps This pic was clicked when he had not seen the tattoo.” Yes, Smriti had gotten her hubby, Gautam’s name inked on her ring finger!
