On November 24, 2017, Smriti Khanna had gotten married to the love of her life, Gautam Gupta. And after three years, the lovely couple had embarked the journey of parenthood in April 2020 and had welcomed a baby girl whom they have lovingly named, Anayka. Smriti, who always wanted a baby girl, makes sure to treat her fans by giving glimpses of her angel through her social media.
On August 19, 2020, we came across an adorable video of Smriti Khanna and Gautam Gupta’s baby girl, Anayka showing one of her hidden talents. On Anayka’s official IG handle, he mommy, Smriti shared an adorable video of Anayka, where she made a peculiar sound and her mommy was seen complimenting her amazing voice saying, “wah wah kya baat hai, ek aur baar.” Anayka looked like a cotton candy as she entertained her mother. Along with the video, Smriti wrote, “Baby singer.”
On June 29, 2020, Smriti Khanna had taken to her Instagram stories to share an adorable picture of her daughter, Anayka. She had posted a picture of Anayka that majorly focussed on her long pretty eyelashes. Atop it she had written, “Atleast she has my lashes @anaykalucasofficial”. Later she had taken to Anayka’s official Instagram handle to re-share the same story, adding how she thinks everything else in her daughter resembled with her father, Gautam, except for her eyelashes. Talking about Smriti and Gautam's baby girl's unique name, the actress had revealed the story of the same in an interview with the Hindustan Times. She had said that it took them 20 days to decide her name. She had further revealed what 'Anayka' means and had added that it denotes powerful and complete. She feels Anayka is an apt name for her daughter. The actress had also said that she had wanted a baby girl and her wish has come true and this had made her Mother’s Day even more special.
On July 6, 2020, Smriti had turned a year older and her baby girl, Anayka had shown off her fashionista style. The actress had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a picture of her smiling little doll. In the picture, we could see Anayka donning a yellow giraffe shirt with white floral pants. Her look was completed with matching mittens and a cute hairband. Smriti had captioned the pictures as "This has by far been the best birthday. Forever grateful for this beautiful life! Ps Miss You @neetakhanna @vinod8964 @shrutikhannajuneja @kunwarjuneja @reyanshjunejaofficial."
After Anayka's birth, Smriti had talked about postpartum depression in an interview with The Times of India. She had shared, "I have realised that even if you speak good on social media and educate people about pregnancy and mother, haters will still troll you. I felt that people did not discuss much about pregnancy, weight issues, breastfeeding and I feel these topics should come out openly in our society because there are so many myths and women struggle all their life to lose weight. There are so many times that this becomes a matter of depression for them. They stop stepping out because they are not looking a certain way or not fitting into their dress. Some women are scared to get pregnant. There is postpartum depression and it is a big thing and it is not spoken in India."
