While we were still getting over Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ dreamy December wedding, the Chopras announced another union in their family. In February 2019, Priyanka had taken to her Instagram handle to announce the news that her brother, Siddharth Chopra got roka-fied with his ladylove, Ishita Kumar and shared photographs from the ceremony. And while we were expecting Siddharth to mount horseback soon, the latest reports suggest that his wedding with Ishita has been postponed. Before we share details about the same, here’s a major update about Siddharth Chopra’s soon-to-be-bride, Ishita Kumar. To give you all a little background, it was on April 27, 2019, when Ishita had taken to her Instagram and had posted two pictures straight from the Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, which suggested that she had undergone a painful surgery and is recovering from it. Sharing pictures of blood bottles and bandages on her tummy, Ishita captioned it, “Recovering from surgery. Very painful but glad it's over.”
Due to Ishita Kumar’s health issues, her wedding with Priyanka Chopra’s brother, Siddharth Chopra has been postponed. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the much-awaited Chopra-Kumar wedding has been postponed and they had quoted a source as saying, “There are rumors that the wedding has been called off, but it is not true. Ishita needs some time to recuperate from her surgery and the families are looking for another mahurat.”
Welcoming Ishita Kumar in their family, her to-be bhabhi Priyanka Chopra Jonas had shared pictures from the roka-cum-engagement ceremony and posted a heartfelt post, congratulating the newly rokafied couple. Sharing a picture of Siddharth and Ishita, Priyanka had written, “So proud of my baby brother. Ishita welcome to the family...you are so beautiful together...I wish you both the best for the future! Happy Roka!! @ishittaakumar @siddharthchopra89.”
Dressed in a pink suit and white roses gracing her open hair, Ishita Kumar too, had shared a lovely picture on her Instagram. Captioning her roka picture with Siddharth Chopra, Ishita had written, “Can't stop smiling looking at him” followed by a heart emoji. In association with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Madhu Chopra had opened an organization for dento-facial aesthetics and PeeCee had posted the mother-daughter duo pictures from the inauguration day. Posting an appreciation post for her mother, Priyanka wrote on her Instagram handle, “One of the greatest individual challenges we face in our lives is the ability to constantly evolve as people and professionals. It means pushing yourself to challenge the status quo. It’s something I work towards everyday with everything I do. And it’s a lesson from my mother Dr. @madhumalati. She has constantly reinvented herself in the pursuit to be her best self in her many roles from a physician in the army, to a film producer, an entrepreneur to a daughter, wife, sister, mother and a friend.”
Priyanka Chopra Jonas concluded her post by saying, “And today was no different. She took yet another step in her professional journey with a new addition to her successful venture @studio_aesthetique. So proud to stand beside her and her partner @drneetikamodi in this new offering as they unveiled it to the world. Coming back to Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her brother, Siddharth Chopra, PeeCee had talked about the sibling relationship that they share in a throwback interview with the Hindustan Times. Priyanka had stated, “We have grown up squabbling and fighting as most siblings do. He is the younger one technically, and so, I did my duty as the older sibling and bullied him mercilessly. But no matter what I did, he would be there for me, with a smile on his face and love in his eyes. I think the strength of the bond that we share is tremendous. A lot is unsaid between us, but we know that no matter what, we’ll always be there for each other. We used to do a lot of masti (fun).
