The episode promo of Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda from Koffee With Karan season 6, had already intrigued us where he revealed that he is more scared of his mom, Jaya Bachchan than his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but his sister interrupted saying he's actually scared of his wife. Now that the full episode is finally out and was way more candid than we expected as Abhishek and Shweta shared some inside scoops of each other as well as the Bachchan family. Unlike a conventional portrayal of a nanad-bhabhi relationship on-screen, the sister-in-law duo, Shweta and Aishwarya show the world that it’s possible to have a great equation with each other. During the Rapid Fire segment, when Shweta was asked what does she love about her sister-in-law, Aishwarya, she replied, "She is a self-made strong woman and a fantastic mother".
When asked about what she hates about Aishwarya, Shweta retorted, "She takes forever to return phone calls/messages." And what she tolerates about Aishwarya, Shweta said, "Time management". When asked the same, ‘love, hate and tolerate’ question about her brother, Abhishek, Shweta shared, “He is very loyal and he is a very dedicated family man. Not just as a son but also a husband.” On what she hates about him, “I hate he thinks he knows it all.” And what she tolerates about Abhishek, she said, "His sense of humour."
When Karan Johar asked Shweta Bachchan Nanda, “Who's a stricter parent - Abhishek or Aishwarya”, she chose the latter's name. When Karan asked Shweta who does she think is a better actor between Abhishek and Aishwarya, Shweta said, "Abhishek."
Abhishek Bachchan was also asked the same ‘love, hate and tolerate’ question about his wife Aishwarya, he replied for what he loves about her, "She loves me". Speaking of what he hates about Aishwarya, Junior B said, "The way she packs." and repeated the same line while answering, what he tolerates about her. Karan Johar also asked Shweta that how the dynamics and roles changed after Aishwarya Rai came into the Bachchan clan. Karan started by saying that the one big change happened in the Bachchan pariwar was when Abhishek married Aishwarya, and when asked what shifting happened in the family structure, Junior B replied, “I don’t think so.” But Shweta went on to add, “I feel whenever there is a new person, in a family unit, whether it’s a daughter-in-law or even a child, roles do get reshuffled.”
Karan reframed his question for Shweta and asked her, “Like you were to go-to-person as a sister and now there’s a wife, who is also a megastar.” Shweta interrupted and said, “Which is great because it is better to have two hands than just one, Karan. I feel a lot of relief that he has someone he can bounce ideas off and things off. So suppose, he hypothetically has an issue with something my father’s told him or my mother’s told him, he may not be able to tell me about it and I may come from a biased point of view, but he may be able to speak to his wife about it without being conscious about it. She understands him better being from the same industry, she will connect with him better, the hours he keep.”
For the show, Abhishek Bachchan is looking dapper in a white t-shirt teamed up with a red coloured jacket and royal blue trousers, Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s fashion game was on point in her white halter-neck fringes top which she paired with a pair of black leather pants. The host of the show, Karan Johar, on the other hand, wore a black shirt along with a black sequined blazer and a pair of trousers.
