It is the much-awaited March 09, 2019 and the internet is flooding with pictures and glimpses from one of the biggest and grandest weddings of the year, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta. It was earlier last year (2018), when we all heard that Akash Ambani had proposed to his childhood sweetheart, Shloka Mehta and the couple were all set to get married the same year. But as shared by Akash Ambani's sister, Isha Ambani herself, Akash had given up his wedding dates for his sister. And today is the day when Akash and Shloka will be each others forever. The josh is just perfect at Jio Garden in Bandra where Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta are all set to take the seven vows. It was only a while back, that we shared with you, the first ever picture of the bride and groom from their wedding venue. Akash had already shown us his pink wedding avatar in pictures and all that we were waiting for, was to see how Shloka will look as a bride. And trust me you, she looked ethereal! And now, be all prepared to see the very beautiful Shloka Mehta's walk from the stairs as she begins her first-ever journey towards her mandap, where her soon-to-be hubby, Akash Ambani awaits her. With a melodious song playing in the background, a couple of people were holding the chadar for the bride-to-be as she set her walk. Speaking about Akash and Shloka’s complete wedding details, an India Today report had earlier stated, “The Mangal Baaraat will assemble at the Trident in Mumbai at 3.30pm on Saturday. From the Trident, the baaraatis are to leave for the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex. A high tea will be hosted for the guests at Jio World Centre at 6.30pm on March 9. Akash and Shloka's wedding ceremony will take place at 7.30pm.” Apart from this, a wedding reception would be held on March 10, 2019, for people belonging to the world of business, Bollywood, politics and cricket. An official statement pertaining to Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding could be read as, “The Akash Ambani wedding started with Akash and and his family paying their respects to his Dadaji and Nanaji. All the guests collected at the pre-wedding concourse for the Saafa tying ceremony even as Vishal and Shekhar engaged in some foot tapping singing to set the tempo. Seen mingling and enjoying tying the saafa, the festive Indian turban, were former British Premiere Tony Blair, former U N Secy general Ban Ki-Moon global CEOs, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, other cricketers and Bollywood stars.”
The statement could be further read as, “The Baaraat left from the Concourse through the Driveway amidst boisterous dancing and Masti...putting everyone in great spirits. More corporate Honchos and Bollywood celebrities joined the family in the Baraat Masti including Google's CEO Sunder Pichai, global heads of Bank of America, and JP Morgan, stars Ranbir Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan, Amir Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Thalaiva Rajanikant, cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Hardik and Krunal Pandya and many more.”
It concluded with, “The Baraat will enter the wedding Hall within the Jio World Centre for the various ceremonies including Pokhwanu, Jaimala, Saptapadi, Kanyadaan etc. The guests will be treated to various delicacies from across the world as part of the wedding dinner. The wedding celebrations will continue on 10th and 11th March with lovely receptions and exquisite performances lined up. A key highlight of the receptions will be unheard of musical fountain cum dance show which integrates the mesmerising and colourful movements of the water fountain to a spectacular dance performance on stage and an aerial dance act right above the stage and the water fountain! In many ways, signifying the lyrical symmetry between water, earth and sky.”
In an interview to an online portal, Shloka had spoken about keeping pace with her relationship inspite of their hectic schedules. She was quoted as saying, “Despite years and busy schedules, we have always found ways to stay connected. Akash is incredibly grounded, and we share a bond based on meaning and memories. We don't just get along - we also support each other's hopes and aspirations and are determined to build a sense of purpose into our lives together. We are lucky to have a love that began with being best friends and luckier still to have such supportive families”.
While Akash had revealed, “I am truly happy that our friendship has blossomed into love and Shloka and I are getting married, she is a truly special and extremely kind-hearted person”. In another interview with a leading media portal, Nita Ambani, post-Akash and Shloka’s proposal had said, “I have known Shloka since she was four and we are all delighted to welcome her to our home and our hearts”. A source close to the family had revealed, “Shloka is a very charming girl, extremely cultured and it’s difficult to say which of the two families is lucky with this upcoming marriage”.
