Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have been one of the most talked about couples in B-Town. Looking like a glamorous pair made-in-heaven, the duo shed sheer couple goals whenever they are spotted together. Coming to their personal lives, the couple became a close-knit family along with their two kids, Viaan and Samisha, who are the apples of the eye of their parents. Moreover, the doting parents, Shilpa and Raj make sure to bring up their children in the best possible way, and make them a part of everything from modern parties to traditional festivals.
Among all other family members, Shilpa shares a unique bond with her sibling, Shamita Shetty and the duo makes sure to stick beside one another no matter what. Such a bond was visible way back in 2012, when Shilpa was then expecting her first child, Viaan Raj Kundra. Shamita had thrown her sister, a surprise baby shower ceremony at Raj Kundra’s spacious abode in Juhu. The event was a star-studded one and Shamita ensured to invite all of her sister’s friends from the industry.

Interestingly, since a baby shower is an event only attended by women, this rule was broken by none other than Shilpa’s hubby and the then-daddy-to-be, Raj Kundra. Raj could not simply stay away from missing such a great party and considering himself as equally responsible for their soon-to-be born child, he had no second thoughts about gate-crashing the event. Moreover, he made the celebration even more memorable by presenting his wifey a 24-carat gold spoon for their to-be-born child.
While there have not been much of inside-pictures circulating from Shilpa Shetty’s baby shower, according to a report by The Times Of India, the entire venue was decorated with cutesy white teddy bears, lots of balloons, and miniature baby diapers hanging as wall adornments. Moreover, each of the attendees of the party was given a custom badge to wear. While Shilpa Shetty’s mom, Sunanda Shetty donned a badge that had ‘grandmother-to-be’ written on it, the then daddy-to-be, Raj Kundra had a badge which said ‘baby’s new designer’ written on it.
The party was surely grand as it was graced by Shilpa’s best female friends from all over the film industry. Sameera Reddy, Arpita Khan, Amrita Arora, Malaika Arora, Neha Dhupia, Farah Khan along with her triplets and Manyata Dutt were some among the long list of people who made it to the event. Since the dress-code of the evening was casual, everyone decked up in uber-cool chic outfits and came aboard to wish well for both Shilpa and her then-to-be-born child.

Apart from the décor, there was also provision for a delectable range of food menus to be served to the guests, which had healthy yet tasty food options. Sausages, smoked chicken, salmon sandwiches and carrot cakes were a few of the highlights of the grand spread. And to top it all, a white-fondant two-tiered cake was arranged for Shilpa to cut, which had the caricature of a pregnant lady adorned on top of it.
The most important people at the bash, Shilpa and Raj were no less in making their bold fashion statements. While Raj looked dashing in a crisp white-hued casual shirt teamed with a pair of jeans, the then-mommy-to-be, Shilpa looked pretty in a pink-hued embellished dress. She kept her tresses open, opted for nude makeup and radiated pregnancy glow.
Since the event was an altogether happy surprise for Shilpa, who was not at all made aware of it all throughout the arrangement stage, she was surely overwhelmed with all the love that came outpouring for her. Therefore, as a note of thanks, she had shared a gratitude post on her social media which thanked all her friends and, most importantly, her darling sister for arranging such a special evening for her. The note could be read as:
“Today was such a special day... my Sis Shamita and friends Rupali and Kiran threw the most amazing Baby shower for me. So much fun. Thank you, guys. A big thankyou to all my friends who came and made me feel so special today. Looking forward to this new phase in my life.”
