The couple reportedly was facing some issues between them, and a recent independent blog post (Kossyderricksblog) claimed that neighbours have been saying that cheating was going on. It was shared in the blog's headline that Shamar was allegedly caught cheating, and also that one of the wounded women was related to him. It couldn't be confirmed whether this blog is revealing the right information, because it hasn't been officially verified yet.

However, it was Shamar's stepdad who revealed that the former had called him on Easter Sunday and was in a gloomy state. He told his stepdad that he was drowning in dark thoughts, as his wife had asked for a divorce from him. Mr Jackson, who is Shamar's stepdad, revealed that Shamar broke down in tears and even said he wanted to end his own life. Shamar's mom shared that while it was known that there were some cracks in his marital life, no reason was known. Amid this, the unverified blog which claims about cheating grabbed the attention.

Shamar killed 7 of his kids, as reported. His and Shaneiqua's social media were filled with cryptic posts. Shaneiqua promoted a post about he Zodiac sign, Aries, with a caption about 'leaving' and 'not looking back', which seems to be relatable to her. People have been commenting on her posts, and the same independent post also claimed that Shaneiqua is allegedly admitted to the hospital.

Shamar was shot down by the police after he committed the crime. He was 31 years old, and the authorities have revealed that he might have been involved in some domestic disturbance, which might have led him to do what he did. He was in the Louisiana Army National Guard from August 2013 to August 2020 as a signal support system specialist and a fire support specialist; however, he later left his job in private.
