Like most other filmy love stories, Shakti and Neha bonded over common work. Well it so happened that a newbie actor, Shakti was paired opposite to a comparatively seasoned actress, Neha Saxena, in Star Plus’s hit serial, Tere Liye. They shared a good relationship, which was nothing more than friendship. In Neha’s words:
“We had an amazing chemistry on the show. We also became good friends. People would ask us if we were together. But nothing was brewing between us then.”

Incidentally, it was not love at first sight for Shakti when he developed feelings for Neha. In fact, during the shooting of the serial, Shakti had been going through a rough patch post-breakup and Neha was the one who stood with him through all his difficult times. It was precisely at that moment when the duo realised that they were meant to be together. Shakti once recalled that period and mentioned that up till then, they had shared a platonic relationship. In his words:
“We realised we liked each other. Yet, it took me around a year to actually convey my feelings to her. We shared a platonic relationship till then.”
As a couple in love, there are several qualities one loves about their partner. For Shakti, it was Neha’s impeccable cooking skills that won his heart. Moreover, he was charmed with her bubbly persona that could easily do away with any hesitation and awkwardness for someone who met her for the first time. In his words:
“I am in love with Neha. I love spending time with her. Her sense of humour is what I like the most about her and, of course, her cuteness!”
After their dating speculations were rife in the media, people soon enough started to guess that they would walk down the aisle anytime soon. While that did not happen, nevertheless, the couple did have a secret roka ceremony with their family and friends. Thereafter, while the couple was all set to tie the knot by November 2016, they were hit with the realities of the infamous demonetization. Such unforeseen calamity made them retract their plans due to monetary difficulties. In an old interview back then, Shakti Arora had opened up on his marriage plans getting affected by demonetization and mentioned:
“It will take me a long time to exchange the old notes with the new ones. I have no idea when we will get married now. It's definitely not happening this year. I had pulled back money to pay to the wedding coordinators, food providers and other staff as I needed to give them a progress. Be that as it may, they are declining to take the old money now.”
Well, while their fans were heartbroken to hear the news about their wedding being postponed, however, they were all the more shocked to learn soon after that the couple had reportedly called it quits and broken up. Moreover, both Shakti and Neha had deleted each other’s pictures from their social media handles, which had further raised eyebrows. According to multiple reports, Shakti had distanced himself from Neha and had flown to Jakarta for work, and it was Neha who had followed him as a last resort to make things up between them. “Over the past few months, a lot of differences cropped up between them, which led to constant tiffs. Neha is now back in India and they have decided to take a break from each other, they need time to think about where their relationship is headed. Distance is also taking a toll on their equation.”

Well, it only took a little time for the couple to learn about such baseless rumours taking place without their knowledge. Both of them were quick to take action and simply rubbished everything that was widely discussed as juicy rumours. Neha blatantly disagreed all such news and mentioned:
“Who is spreading these rumours? Shakti and I are together. In fact, I returned from Jakarta only because my Visa expired. I don’t know how the rumour started... the world can say whatever we are together and happy. We have never hid our relationship and we will definitely not hide our wedding either when it happens.”
On the other hand, Shakti too gave a loud and clear response where he mentioned that everything was going perfectly smoothly between them, contrary to the popular news churned out about them. In his response, Shakti dropped an adorable picture with Neha on his social media handle and penned:
“A Real relationship will last long beyond the rumours. Putting all rumours to rest. #Relationshipgoals.”
Well, as everything seemed to be back on track between the couple, their fans were once again excited to witness their wedding. And to fulfil the wishes of their fans, Neha Saxena gave out a strong interview with Spotboye and for the first time ever, revealed the advanced stages of their wedding planning. Revealing her excitement for the upcoming wedding, she mentioned:
“We have already taken a step ahead. Now our families are involved, we will get married soon enough now. I want my marriage to be larger than life, I love wearing Indian dresses and I’m excited to put together my trousseau. My wedding will be lavish, extravagant and completely filmy. There will be a lot of functions. I want to celebrate and enjoy it to the hilt. We will have a lot of functions, spread across several days, you know, like a big fat filmi wedding. In fact, I have already started saving, because once I start my wedding shopping, there will be no stopping me.”
After months of media speculation as well as their dating, Shakti Arora finally tied the knot with Neha Saxena on April 6, 2018. Their marriage came as a sweet surprise for their fans who had been eagerly waiting for the same. They tied the knot in a secret wedding ceremony in Mumbai in the presence of their close families and friends. To announce their happy news, Shakti dropped an adorable picture from their wedding on his social media handle and captioned:
“Together is a wonderful place to be!”
Soon enough post their wedding, Shakti Arora was roped in for an interview where he revealed his first-hand feelings about getting married to his soulmate. The actor mentioned that everything still felt like a dream and that the reality had not sunk in yet. In his words:
“The feeling is yet to sink in and I don’t feel like a married man yet. Abhi tak kuch samajh nahi aa raha, but it’s a nice feeling.”
Fast forward to today, the couple is living their life king size in the blissful company of one another!
