Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one television show that not only made jodis for reel-life but also created many for real life. The main protagonist of the show Akshara a.k.a. Hina Khan found her soulmate in the show’s producer, Rocky Jaiswal, the on-screen pairing of ‘Naira’ and ‘Kartik’ made Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan fall for each other, love also blossomed between, Anshul Udhwani and Priyanka Pandey who essayed the role of ‘Naman’ and ‘Karishma’. Amongst these couples is Kanchi Singh and Rohan Mehra, who started having hots for each other while working together for the soap opera.

Accepting that he is dating Kanchi, before entering the Bigg Boss house, Rohan had once retorted, "We cannot avoid controversies, they are bound to happen. And it is natural also. When Rohan was inside the reality show, things were awkward as he was getting close to a commoner, Lokesh Kumari and model, Lopamudra Raut. But Kanchi maintained her stance and even went on record to say that their bond became stronger after the reality show. Kanchi had stated, “No one must have got a chance like we did; wherein Rohan was inside the house and couldn't see me at all, but I could completely and constantly see and hear Rohan via TV. The show made our bond become really strong.”
On April 8, 2018, it was Rohan’s birthday and Kanchi shared a heartfelt wish for him on social media. Rohan and Kanchi’s co-star, Hina Khan has been very supportive of the two and she was the first one to know about their relationship. Kanchi had once told The Times of India, “Hina di was the first one to know about relationship and to our surprise, she was extremely supportive of it.In fact when Rohan and Hina di had gone to Amsterdam and London for a few events, she had helped Rohan select gifts for me.”
Talking about getting married, Rohan had once shared, “My relationship isn’t for headlines! Why would I date someone I don’t want to marry?
