Over the years, Shahid Kapoor has gone from a chocolate boy look to a rugged one and showed his versatility in his acting. Shahid is the elder son of Pankaj Kapur and Neliima Azeem, and he has made a name for himself in the glamour world with his own credibility and hard work. Since his childhood, Neliima had raised him as a single mom, so a lot of people didn't know that Shahid was Pankaj Kapur's son, which is why he had doubted himself of becoming an actor.
However, look at him now. Shahid has been giving some major performances in the last couple of years, and now he is gearing up for his upcoming film, Jersey, which will be released on April 14, 2022. Apart from being an actor, Shahid is a doting husband to Mira Rajput Kapoor and a loving daddy to two kids, Misha and Zain.

In a recent conversation with the media during his upcoming movie, Jersey's trailer launch, Shahid Kapoor opened up that people didn't know he is Pankaj Kapur's son when his first film, Ishq Vishq was released. He revealed he had thought people would never accept him and he would never be able to become an actor. He said:
“Mujhe laga hi nahi tha ki mai actor ban paaunga. Kyunki zyadatar log jaante hi nahi the ki main dad ka beta hu. I never told anyone as well (about being Pankaj kapoor's son). So I didn't know if people would accept me or not."
Further going in the same conversation, the Udta Punjab actor shared his childhood and said that he stayed out of the glam world in Mumbai for the longest period of time and came here very late. He mentioned:
"Because my parents were separated, and I didn't use to live in Bombay, I came here very late. My mother was a single mom, and I was a little older while Ishaan (Khatter) was very young."

Shahid further added that people might not believe it as both of his parents are actors, but on the real ground, they did not know many people. Thus, they couldn't help him. The actor said:
“I used to think that if my first film doesn’t work, then I will be out of the industry. It’s a blessing that I am an actor. I know that people would probably not believe it because my parents were technically actors, but they did not know many people.”
On the work front, Shahid Kapoor has previously worked with his father, Pankaj Kapur in the films like Mausam and Shandaar. Now the father-son duo will again grace the screens together with Jersey.
