The trailer of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's upcoming film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, was launched in Mumbai on January 18, 2024. The duo twinned in black at the event. While Shahid looked dapper in a black jacket styled with blue jeans, Kriti looked stylish in a strapless dress featuring a ruffled asymmetrical hem. She teamed it with black heels and subtle makeup and donned a pair of dazzling stud earrings. However, it was Shahid's choice of footwear that grabbed everyone's attention.

Earlier, as the first song, Laal Peeli Akhiyaan, from Shahid Kapoor's upcoming film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, was released, the actor faced a bit of outrage on social media. A Reddit user shared the screengrab from Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's dance song, wherein the duo rocked the dance floor with the hook steps. Kriti looked drop-dead gorgeous in a blue-hued chiffon saree with a shimmery border, which she paired with an embellished blouse. On the other hand, Shahid opted for an all-black outfit.

However, what caught the netizens' attention was that Shahid was wearing heeled shoes, while Kriti was in flats. Soon after the post was shared on Reddit, netizens started comparing Shahid and Kriti's heights. Reacting to it, one user commented, "Kriti wearing flat shoes. Shahid obviously wearing higher heels to appear taller. Can’t blame him as kriti is tall". Another netizen labelled Shahid as insecure and penned, "Bollywood actors do it because they feel insecure with their height. They always want to be taller than the actress."
