Shahid and Mira had completed 4 years of marital bliss. The Jab We Met actor had broken many hearts when he had decided to tie the knot on July 17, 2015, with Mira Rajput in an arranged marriage. In an interview with India TV, Shahid had opened about his marriage and had stated, “Mira and I never dated. We just met three to four times and decided to get married. I was about to start shooting for Udta Punjab when I met first met, Mira. Shahid had also revealed that he considers himself lucky to have Mira by his side and he still can’t believe how Mira agreed to marry him. In the same interview, he had also stated, “It was adventurous of Mira to agree to marry a guy who looked like Tommy. I also remember telling her — 'I am going to colour my hair.' You should have seen her face. She is this 20-something girl coming out of LSR College and she was like 'What?' And when I told her I am playing a character called Tommy, she said, 'That is not the name of a guy, it is the name of a dog.”
Shahid and Mira are one of the most sought-after couples of Bollywood and talking about their bond, Shahid had always said that the two often have arguments since they are completely opposite to each other. In Neha Dhupia's chat show, No Filter Neha, he had also retorted, "We can fight about everything and anything. We have a very strong and different point of views. For the kind of person, I am, I am very happy that I have somebody like that.
