The star-wife-turned-designer, Gauri had ventured into the world of interior designing and is now a high-end designer par excellence. Not only do Shah Rukh and Gauri support each other on the personal front, but they also stand by one another professionally. While Gauri makes sure to cheer her hubby during the award functions, events and in his movies, Shah Rukh too ensures to be there for his wife at the unveiling of the spaces designed by her, being her cheerleader when she receives an award and does everything possible to support Gauri Khan Designs.
The who’s who of B-town including Anushka Sharma, Janhvi Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Mira Rajput Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar, Deepti Naval, Anaita Shroff Adajania, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Soni Razdan, Angad Bedi, Neha Dhupia, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Manish Malhotra, Yami Gautam, among other A-listers gathered under one roof at The St. Regis Mumbai for Vogue India’s first-ever Power List 2019 awards ceremony in association with Nykaa Fashion. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan too, made their way to celebrate the best of fashion.
For the event, Gauri Khan’s fusion outfit i.e., a black sari gown by designer Amit Aggarwal was a flawless pick seamlessly tied in with the theme of the evening, ‘India-Modern’. Gauri’s ensemble had the designer’s signature sculpting detailing on the shoulder, which disguised as a quirky take on the pallu. Gauri accentuated her look with a solitaire ring, a pair of strappy black shoes, her tresses blow-dried with soft romantic curls at the ends and minimal makeup. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan complemented his wife in a black suit and together, they had looked nothing less than a king and his queen! Just like a perfect gentleman he is, while entering the venue, Shah Rukh picked his wife’s outfit’s train and held it while walking to avoid it from getting spoilt. All thanks to Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s pre-wedding bash in 2018, we had gotten to see Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan in a whole new avatar! Gauri had totally overshadowed her superstar hubby, Shah Rukh when it came to her phenomenal dance performance and we had only gaped in wonderment as to how wonderful they both looked while dancing together. Later, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, King Khan had revealed that he broke a ‘ritual’ for the first time for his performance with his wife. He had remarked, “My wife trained with Shaimak Davar and his young dancers were with us that evening too. She was dancing on stage after 10-20 years, it was very sweet of her. I don’t rehearse with my heroines, but this time I practiced my steps backstage. (Laughs) With the wife you have to, especially if she is a trained dancer.” Whoa!
On October 25, 2019, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan had celebrated 28 years of marital togetherness and we wish and pray that there are many more decades to come for them (read, an eternity!). Always the more expressive one, Shah Rukh had taken to Instagram to wish his wife, Gauri, a very happy 28th! Posting a beautiful selfie of the two, the doting hubby had written, “Feels like forever, seems like yesterday... Nearly three Decades and Dearly three kids old. As all of you already know, Gauri Khan is a renowned interior designer. Have you ever wondered if she will ever design her hubby’s office? Shah Rukh Khan too had this question in mind and putting up this query to his wife, he had commented on one of her pictures, "When are you designing my office?" To this, Gauri had typed out a tongue-in-cheek response, "As soon as I have some free time..." followed with a smiley. Like husband, like wife!
