Shafaq Naaz is one of the most popular actresses in the television industry. She has been part of many hit TV shows, including Mahabharat, Chidiya Ghar, Kulfi Kumar Bajewala, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin and many others. Coming to her personal life, Shafaq Naaz was all set to get engaged to a Muscat-based businessman, Zeeshan, in May 2023, after being in a courtship for three and half years. In addition, a court marriage was also scheduled in the same month. However, they called off their engagement, leaving her massive fanbase shocked. Now, Shafaq opened up about the same.
In an interview with Bombay Times, Shafaq Naaz addressed the real reason behind calling off her engagement and marriage to the Muscat-based businessman in May, 2023. She revealed that the engagement, followed by the wedding, had to be suspended due to some misunderstandings. Elaborating how she and Zeeshan's family had some disagreements, she said:
“Marriage involves not just two individuals, but also their families. When two families get together, differences can arise. Har family mein shaadi ke time par problems hoti hain aur thoda disagreement rehta hai, especially in the case of love marriages. Sadly, our families, too, had some misunderstandings, but I don’t want to blame anyone.”

In the same conversation, Shafaq mentioned that although marriage isn't on her and Zeeshan's cards anytime soon, they are dating. She revealed things are now better between the couple. Shafaq added:
“We are together, but marriage is not on the cards this year. Maybe, this isn’t the right time. Let’s see what the future holds for us.”
Further, Shafaq was asked if her brother, Sheezan Khan's arrest was the reason behind her engagement getting called off. To this, the actress completely denied it. For the unversed, Sheezan was allegedly accused when his co-actress, Tunisha Sharma, committed suicide in December 2022. For the same, Sheezan was accused of being the reason behind it and was arrested. However, while addressing the same in her interview, Shafaq mentioned that it wasn't the reason for the growing distance between her and her partner, Zeeshan. Shafaq elaborated:
“Not at all. His family has been by my side throughout the challenging period. I wouldn’t be in a relationship with someone, who would change during difficult circumstances.”

Following this, Shafaq mentioned how all the incidents mentioned above took a toll on her health, and she has been mentally affected due to this. Thus, she is not looking forward to returning to work. Instead, the actress is focusing on improving her health. She concluded:
“In the past six months, a lot has happened on the personal front leaving me mentally affected to the extent that I couldn’t focus on myself. I have decided to take care of my health and relationships now. I am looking out for good projects and working on personal growth.”
