Serayah Ends Engagement With Father Of Her Son, Joey Badass, Accuses Him Of 'Repeated Infidelity'

While the news came as a shock to many, Serayah decided to speak out about the split herself instead of letting the media and fans speculate about the possible reason.
Why did Serayah break up with Joey Badass?
On August 24, 2026, Serayah Ranee McNeill took to her Instagram to share a lengthy statement. In it, she announced that she had “made the difficult decision to end my engagement and relationship with the father of my child.” For those unaware, Serayah had welcomed a son with Joey Badass in 2025.
Serayah started her note by writing that there comes a time in a woman's life when choosing herself becomes the necessary thing to do. While she had loved the rapper deeply and believed in the life that they were building together, it was all futile. Claiming that there was nothing she wanted more than to protect their family, Serayah added:
“Unfortunately, I also had to face a painful truth: there had been repeated infidelity throughout our relationship, including during some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of my life.”
Serayah said that her intention behind sharing about her split from Joey was not to gain sympathy. She also did not want any kind of retaliation and did not wish to tear anyone down publicly. The reason that she shared it, as per the actress, was that she believes there are too many women who are taught to question themselves before they even think about what's happening right in front of them.
Serayah advised her fans to listen to their intuition if it ever tells them something is wrong. In her words:
“Don’t make yourself smaller to keep someone else comfortable. Don’t compromise your values because you’re afraid of losing the future you imagined. And don’t allow someone else’s choices to become a referendum on your worth. Love should not require you to abandon yourself.”
Now that Serayah and Joey Badass are no longer together, the former made it clear that for her, it is their son who comes first. She promised to protect his peace, privacy, and relationship with both parents.
Serayah explained that she would not be discussing the nitty-gritty of their relationship publicly beyond what she already shared. Despite her split with the rapper, Serayah is not completely disheartened, as she ended her note with, “This chapter did not end the way I prayed it would. But endings can also be beginnings.”

Serayah and Joey Badass first crossed paths at a mutual friend’s birthday party, back in 2021. During an interview in 2025, Joey recalled the moment that he laid eyes on the actress. He confessed to thinking that he had never seen a more beautiful woman than Serayah.
Joey called her “strikingly gorgeous” and gushed about how Serayah had a radiating aura. While he claimed that it was just a silent thought, he also added that it was a distinctive feeling he had never felt before.
Joey began dating Serayah in 2022. The rapper had never shied away from being open about the fact that he was polyamorous. He shared that it was his relationship with Serayah that “changed my perspective.” He stated:
“It definitely shifted, and the dynamic that I wanted changed. So I’m very much monogamous now, and I don’t discourage or disagree with anybody going after polyamory or whatever if that’s what you want to do. But this is where I’m at now, and this is where I feel secure.”
