During April Fools' Day 2026, Selena appeared in a video posted by influencer Micky Gordon, where the latter acted as the former's new Rare Beauty assistant.
In the mock video, Selena walks into her personal office to meet her new assistant, only to find Micky redecorating the room with pictures of herself. Micky then shares her to-do list for the day with Selena, which includes a note to "call the clone" with an asterisk. Micky Gordon said, "Could just ignore that," before reading the rest of the list.

The Good For You singer was speculated to have been replaced by a body double or a clone after her kidney transplant in 2017, as netizens noticed changes in her voice, appearance, and behavior. The singer candidly replied, "Hahahaha I've had Botox bb girl." Selena's honest response won over her fans, as celebrities often try to deny the beauty-enhancement procedures they undergo.

A third commented, "I feel like her plastic surgery is more because of her chronic illness.
