Savannah Guthrie Urges Nancy's Kidnappers To 'Do The Right Thing' In New Plea, 'Never Too Late..'

For those who don't know, Nancy was last seen at her Tucson home in Arizona on January 31, 2026. With months passing by at the blink of an eye, with barely any new information about Nancy’s whereabouts, Savannah has made a new plea to the kidnappers.
Savannah Guthrie directly addresses her mother's kidnappers in a new video
A while ago, on Monday, July 27, 2026, Savannah Guthrie took to her Instagram account and posted a heartbreaking video. Addressing her mom, Nancy’s kidnappers directly, she urged them to “do the right thing,” claiming that her family is living in a “nightmare that will not end.” She also said that while they had already done their part, they would never stop looking for their 84-year-old mother. The Today co-host added:
“I’m coming on today with a very specific message. It has been months since our mom was taken from us. Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed. We have done our part, and we will never stop looking for her. We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts.”
Savannah then went on to say that the world is an unforgiving place. She begged the kidnappers to do the right thing and make the right choice. According to her, it is never too late to do what is right. In her words:
“The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, and I know that you have tried to do things the right way. So I’m asking you, begging you to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look for her. I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing. Help us bring this situation to an end. For all of us, no matter where we’ve been and what we’ve done, I believe there is always a way home. Please make the right choice.”
It is worth noting that this is not the first video that Savannah has posted on Instagram where she asked her mother, Nancy’s kidnappers, to return her safely. On February 10, 2026, the FBI recovered footage from Nancy’s Ring doorbell camera which showed an armed male wearing a hiking jacket approaching the home. He was the only person of interest in the case and was believed to be approximately 5’9” - 5’10” tall.
Even though the FBI received over 13,000 tips about Nancy after they released this footage, no arrests were made. A few days after this, Nancy posted a video where she said:
“We also know that she may be lost. She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the lord that she loves and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother Pierce and with our daddy. If this is what is to be, then we will accept it. But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”
Will Nancy Guthrie only be released after Savannah Guthrie pays millions in ransom?
During a recent episode of the Crime Junkie podcast, crime journalist Briana Whitney and Ashley Flowers spoke about the chilling details of the ransom notes. A part of the first note read, “Hello, Savannah. We have your mother, Nancy. She is safe but scared. She will be held for ransom, and once payment is received, she will be released unharmed. We will be holding her for a maximum of seven days.”
Brianna had revealed that the kidnappers were asking for millions of dollars in US currency. Initially, they asked for USD 4 million in bitcoin, but once the demand was not met, the sum was increased to USD 6 million.
Reportedly, the kidnappers claimed that Nancy was aware that she would be released within 12 hours of the deposit and that her life was in the hands of Savannah. The note further stated, “It is in the best interest of everyone to have this completed as soon as possible. You will not be able to contact me from here on out. There will be no negotiation. Do not play games. Law enforcement will not be able to help you."
