Yes, Saumya Tandon, aka, Gori Mem of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, is all set to embrace parenthood this year. Grapevine was abuzz that Saumya was pregnant, and that is what was quoted as the reason behind her quitting one of the highest TRP-grossing shows of Life OK. The actress had refuted her pregnancy rumours for a long time, when on November 14, 2018, Saumya took to Instagram and posted the first-ever picture of her baby bump and captioned it as, “Woke up feeling like a magician today, feel like a superhero without a cape most days now, filled with blessing and godliness. Constantly excited by the buzzing in my head and the sudden pump of hormones; this promises to be a fascinating ride. The big news-I'm PREGNANT and trying to soak in every moment of it! And ever since, people have been constantly looking forward to more pictures of the mommy-to-be. Only a few hours back, Saumya took to Instagram and posted a beautiful black-and-white pictures from what looks like a maternity shoot, the beautiful actress was seen wearing a preggy-maxi dress, holding her baby bump. Her short and crisp caption spoke a million words, which could be read as, “Celebrating the new curves. #pregnant . Photograph by the talented @sachin113photographer.” Here’s the picture:
Doesn’t she look amazing? For our celebrities, pregnancy and fitness goes hand-in-hand. On December 11, 2018, Saumya took to Instagram and shared a picture from her pregnancy fitness stance, wherein she was seen doing yoga. Encouraging many other mommy-to-be’s, the Jab We Met star captioned the picture as, “Goumukhaasan super beneficial for stretching tight glutes and upper body. Though not doing so perfectly right now thanks to my huge belly. Very benificial for pregnant women. Another picture of the gorgeous star where she is once again seen flaunting her pregnancy belly, Saumya had posted another stunning picture of herself and captioned it as, “When people see me like this and congratulate me, I like to say ‘For What’ and then watch them freak out. Sometime back, Saumya spoke to The Times of India about embracing parenthood and was quoted as saying, “I am glad to declare I am pregnant. There has been a lot of speculation about that since a long time. Probably the news came before I even planned it. Things just fell into place and I am glad that I am going to have a baby. I am grateful to God. Thanks for your wishes.”
Revealing if she will work after her pregnancy, Saumya was quoted as saying, “I know there will be a lot of questions about my work plan, but there is a place and right time for those answers, right now it is about celebrating and taking all your good wishes for me. Of course, I plan to continue working and acting as long as I live. Hate to give this explanation though, I don’t think being a mother makes any woman hold back her passion, dream or work, it only empowers her more. What I can assure everyone is that I will keep on trying to the raise the bar for myself and hopefully to not disappoint the viewers with my work.”
Earlier when Saumya was missing from the shooting of her show, BJGPH, rumour mills were buzzing that it was due to the actress’s pregnancy. Before announcing her pregnancy, she had shared, “I am aware that rumors about me planning a family are doing the rounds. My reply is that I would love to have a baby. Motherhood is a beautiful experience and I surely don't want to miss out on that. In fact, if it happens, I will share it with everyone and enjoy it when the right time comes. As of now, I have no news to share. These things are in God's hands. Who are we to decide?"
She had further shared, “Also, my producers are so accommodating and sweet that they had once told me that even during pregnancy, I can continue doing the show, and later go on maternity leave. This is a wonderful change in the entertainment industry, and I really applaud that.” About Saumya’s desire to start a family back then, a source was quoted as sharing, “Saumya has been part of the show for the past three years. She now feels that it's time to move on and try out new things. Starting a family is also something she wants to focus on".
