'Satluj' Review, Diljit Dosanjh And Arjun Rampal Deliver Career Best Movie, Fans Say, 'Masterpiece'

Satluj is inspired by a real-life incident

The recently released movie, Satluj is set in 1995 in Punjab. The story follows 'Jaswant Singh' (played by Diljit Dosanjh), who is a bank employee. He is living a normal life, until someone close to him mysteriously disappears. His search leads 'Jaswant' towards a disturbing incident. He realises that thousands of illegal killings have happened.

After uncovering this, 'Jaswant' plans to risk everything to expose the truth. The movie is inspired by the real-life work of Jaswant Singh Khalra. He was a human rights activist, whose investigation became one of the most horrific chapters of Punjab. It is worth mentioning that the spine-chilling movie is directed by Honey Trehan.

Diljit Dosanjh delivers his career-best performance

The best part of the movie is Diljit Dosanjh, who delivers his career-best performance. His clap-worthy performance leaves fans impressed. Rather than relying on dramatic speeches, it is his emotions and sincerity as 'Jaswant' that makes Satluj a memorable movie. The shift from a normal man to a fearless activist is commendable. Praising him, a user on X (Formerly Twitter) wrote:

"Diljit Dosanjh delivers a sincere and powerful performance, bringing both heart and authenticity to his character. Probably one of his most impactful performances till date. The film has many cuts but Zee5 released it without any cuts.. Enjoy."

Apart from Diljit, the film also stars Arjun Rampal as 'CBI officer Samudra Singh'. He investigates the disappearance of 'Jaswant'. It is worth mentioning that after Dhurandhar, fans will be in awe of Arjun's acting in Satluj. From a ferocious villain to a disciplined police officer, Arjun Rampal's performance is whistle-worthy. Suvinder Vicky and Kanwaljit Singh also leave a lasting impact on cinephiles.

What does not work in Satluj?

Satluj has a lot of plus points; however, a few flaws can still be pointed out. One of the main issues is its slow pace. Some cinephiles can argue that a few scenes could have been trimmed from the movie as it feels stretched and repetitive. Another issue is that 'Jaswant's' background is not properly explored in it. Even though Satluj reveals that he was a bank employee, the film does not tell anything about the challenges he has faced before as a human rights activist.
