From her debut film, Kedarnath, Sara was compared with her mother, Amrita Singh especially for an uncanny resemblance with her. Sara has always praised her mother and had expressed her undying love for her so much that she has once expressed her intention to live with her mother for the rest of her life.
On August 12, 2020, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s princess, Sara Ali Khan turned 25 and the gorgeous actress celebrated her birthday in Goa with her mother, Amrita Singh and brother, Ibrahim Ali Khan. On her birthday, the gorgeous Sara took to her IG handle and penned a congratulatory note for mommy, Amrita Singh. Sharing two throwback pictures of Amrita with her pet dogs, Sara wrote, “Quarter Century Ho Gayi!! From being a Pup Mommy to a Human Mommy. Love you Maa.”
Sara also gave glimpses of her quarantine birthday celebrations in Goa with her family. Sara's birthday celebrations included balloons, champagne and of course, cake! Sara posted a glimpse of her delicious birthday cakes with the messages, “Happy Birthday Appa Jaan" and “Quarter Century ho gayi, congratulations best mummy” written atop it. To make her birthday even more special, Kareena Kapoor Khan posted a throwback picture of Sara with her abba, Saif Ali Khan and penned the most 'beautiful' wish for her. Kareena captioned her post as "Happy birthday beautiful @saraalikhan95 Eat loads of pizza. Big hug." Sara's bua, Soha Ali Khan too, took to her IG feed and wished her niece on the birthday. Soha captioned her selfie with Sara as "Happy birthday Sara bia! May you continue to shine always. Much love." Coming back to Sara and Amrita, then the gorgeous Sara is always praised for her uncanny resemblance to her mother. Speaking about the same, in an interview with Harper's Bazaar India, Sara had stated, “I took a picture of me in purple lipstick and there was a picture of my mom thirty years ago in purple lipstick. It's more of DNA and chance. I felt 'Wow, we are doing the same thing' but I don't know about acting. She is an extremely fine actor and it will take me a long time to be compared to her.”
In an interview with the Hello! magazine, Sara had shared that it was her mother, who had helped her get ready for her father, Saif's second marriage. She had revealed, “When my father just got married to Kareena, I remember going to the locker with my mother and taking out jewellery and saying which jhumkas should I wear? She called Abu and Sandeep and said, “Saif is getting married and I want Sara to have the most beautiful lehenga."
