The Nawab of B-town, Saif Ali Khan had an incredible journey in the industry, with his own fair share of ups and downs. Despite Parampara (1993) being his debut, he basked success with 1994 blockbuster film, Main Khiladi Tu Anari. Things didn’t work for him for quite some years after that until Dil Chahta Hai (2001) happened. Do you remember Saif Ali Khan’s song, Jab Bhi Koi Ladaki Dekhun, Meraa Dil Divaanaa Bole, Ole Ole Ole, Ole Ole Ole… from Main Khiladi Tu Anari? Long before we fell for Saif Ali Khan’s classic Nawabi poise in Ole Ole, which had us all grooving and like how! Be it any celebration, nothing is complete without a dance on this 90s classic song. And recently at Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards 2019, Sara Ali Khan made us revisit the golden decade of the 90s when she grooved to her father, Saif Ali Khan’s song, Ole Ole from the film, Main Khiladi Tu Anari. Sara was a treat to watch as she shook a leg to her dad’s iconic song and performed the steps correctly. Here’s the video:
For the Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards 2019, Sara Ali Khan wore a bright bubblegum pink gown by Monisha Jaising, which had three giant bows in the front, a layered silhouette and a thigh-high slit. Sara accentuated her look with matching pink pumps by Kurt Geiger and added the pink fever to her lips, blush and eyes too.
This is not the first time that Sara Ali Khan had performed on her father, Saif Ali Khan’s song, Ole Ole. During the promotions of her debut film, Kedarnath, on Red FM with RJ Malishka, Sara had performed on the song with her co-star, Sushant Singh Rajput. But what caught our attention was that she couldn’t get the steps right. It's only when Sushant Singh Rajput taught her, she managed to ace it and how.
Even during the promotions of Simmba, Sara Ali Khan and her co-star Ranveer Singh had visited the sets of dance reality show Dance Plus 4, and they grooved to Ole Ole on-stage. Sara along with Ranveer and dancer Punit Pathak recreated the hook step of Ole Ole and by the end of the song, we saw a shy Sara running around the stage. Do you remember even Saif Ali Khan’s wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan grooved to her husband’s song, Ole Ole? At Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja’s wedding reception, wherein the entire Bollywood clan had set the stage on fire with their jhakaas dance moves, Bebo too took over the DJ console. And just look at that energy with that glass of wine in her hand!
We have seen the fun-filled dynamics between the two generations, the father-daughter duo, Saif Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan. The phrase ‘Daddy’s little angel’ epitomizes this celeb daddy-daughter duo and a few unseen pictures that went viral sometime back, are a proof of that. Saif and Sara’s unseen pictures from her childhood are super-adorable to make you all go ‘aww’. Take look at both the pictures and drool!
In an interview with Pinkvilla, when Saif was asked whether he was surprised by Sara’s confidence on screen, he replied, “Yes and no. The thought behind her shot is clear. It’s amazing. Way better than what I was.” Saif elaborated further, “I’m so happy for her. This was her choice all the way. She chose this and made it happen. And I thought she was brilliant. A thinking actress who is expressive and inventive in every shot. I see a fantastic future for her.”
Sharing that Sara always dreamt of being an actor, Saif was quoted as saying, “She is used to being good at what she loves, but I thank the people for welcoming her and giving her the acceptance that an actor needs.” In another throwback interview, he expressed his nervousness upon Sara entering the film domain. Saif had shared, “(I am) A little nervous. Fear is the most driving factor in the industry. I am not looking down on acting, it's just it is not the most stable profession. And everyone lives in constant fear. And there is no guarantee that despite doing your best, you will succeed. This is not the life, any parent would want for their children."
In an interview with Mid-Day, when asked if she ever discusses work with her father, Sara Ali Khan had stated, “He [Saif Ali Khan] looks at me like I'm a traitor for discussing films. He lives with Kareena [Kapoor Khan], is a brother to Soha, and is an actor's son. So, now, if I discuss work, he's like, 'Please don't do this to me.' So, we don't talk about films often. We talk about history, argue about what Hitler's motivations were, or who was wrong in the Cold War. Sometimes, we discuss religion and how different beliefs and social systems came about. We both enjoy culture, travelling, good food, and great conversations." (Also Read: Kareena Kapoor Khan And Saif Ali Khan Don't Want To Cover Taimur Ali Khan's Face In Public)
