Ace tennis star and six-time Grand Slam winner, Sania Mirza is just a few days away from holding her little baby in her arms and is currently enjoying her motherhood phase to the fullest. A few days ago, Sania’s baby sister, Anam Mirza surprised her Api with a baby-shower-cum-pyjama party. Sania shares a very warm and ‘best friends forever’ relationship with her younger sister, Anam. Sania is enjoying her last trimester in Hyderabad with her parents and sister, and now her husband, Shoaib Malik too joined his pregnant wife in the ‘City Of Biryani’.
Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik, along with their close friends celebrated the soon-to-be mommy’s baby shower. While Sania looked gorgeous in a yellow dress and her unmissable pregnancy glow accentuated the look, Shoaib opted for a maroon coloured t-shirt. A special customised cake was ordered for Sania, which had ‘Baby Mirza Malik’ written on it and was decorated with a cuddled baby angel fondant. In an interview earlier, when Sania was asked about the baby’s name, she was quoted as saying, “We have, mutually, shortlisted the names without a battle!” And further sharing that she is least bothered by the gender of her baby, Sania added, “And obviously if it is only my child, I would hope, pray and wish for it to be a healthy child. It doesn't matter if it is a boy or a girl, which seems to be very important for a lot of people. Besides that, to believe in yourself and always know that you have the freedom to be whoever you are. Stating an important message as a to-be mommy, Sania had said, “I think as an expectant mother the most important message that I want to give not just to my child but to every child is that you have to follow your dreams whatever they are even if they are out of the box or out of the ordinary, you have to believe in yourself.”
Sharing how she is preparing for the upcoming sleepless nights and changing diapers of her child, Sania remarked, “I have already spent quite a few sleepless nights due to the discomforts I feel during the third trimester of pregnancy, though changing diapers may be a new chore which I am actually looking forward to!” She went on to say, “I think motherhood prepares one automatically and very naturally for the most important phase in a woman’s life. A lot has changed in the last few months and I know a lot more will change in the coming days, but most of it has happened without me making too much of a conscious effort.”
When asked if it is difficult to stay away from the tennis court, Sania retorted, “This is the first time in my life that I have been able to completely relax, with no pressures of a career in professional sport or of training or of worrying about following a strict diet among other things.
