The Indian film industry is going through an incredibly tough and rough patch. Whether we talk about Bollywood or South Indian film industry, everyone is facing tons of problems. While on one side, Bollywood is going through the demise of a lot of famous celebrities. And, also the pain of not being able to know the truth behind their late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's death. On the other side, the South Indian film industry has also lost some legendary and young actors in recent months. However, at this moment, both industries are going through a groundbreaking investigation. On one side, NCB is cracking down the involvement of drug nexus in Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide. While, on the other, the Sandalwood industry is witnessing one of the biggest drug scandals in their history. 

According to Mumbai Mirror, it has been reported that Bollywood actor, Vivek Oberoi's house in Mumbai was searched by Bengaluru CCB (City Crime Branch) to arrest his absconding brother-in-law, Aditya Alva. The police started their search on Thursday afternoon with a valid search warrant. The reason behind searching Vivek Oberoi's residence has been revealed by the Joint Commissioner of Police, Sandeep Patil in his statement that reads "In Cottonpet case, Aditya Alva is absconding. Vivek Oberoi is his relative, and we have got the information that Alva is hiding there. So we wanted to check. A court warrant was obtained, and the CCB team have gone to his house in Mumbai." For the uninitiated, last month, according to various reports, popular Kannada actress, Ragini and popular television actress, Anika D was arrested in the Sandalwood drug case by the police. After which, it was reported that an FIR had been lodged against 12 people at the Cottonpet Police station. Among those 12 people was Politician, Jeevaraj Alva's son and popular Bollywood actor, Vivek Oberoi's brother-in-law, Aditya Alva, who was booked under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Talking about other names in the FIR, it had included, businessman Prashanth Ranka, Viren Khanna, Vaibhav Jain, African drug supplier Loum Pepper Samba, Rahul Tonse, Ashwin, Abhiswami, Prashanth Raju, Vinay, and others.

The Joint Commissioner of Police, Sandeep Patil had released an official statement on the case and had also revealed the names on top of their lists so far. His statement could be read as, "We have filed a suo moto FIR (first information report) at the Cottonpet police station in the city against Ragini and others, including drug peddlers Shivaprakash, Ravi Shankar, Rahul Shetty and party planner Viren Khanna for their drug links in the Kannada film industry." Also, Assistant Commissioner of Police P.K. Gowtham had informed the IANS about the things that they had seized so far. He had said, "We have also seized 2.1 litres of hash oil and 2 kg of weed oil from the trio - Jashin, Subramani and Vidush." So far, Vivek Oberoi hasn't reacted on this matter and we hope he reacts soon!
