Amid the rising curiosity about Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s pregnancy, her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaaram’s director, BV Nandini Reddy, gave an update and indeed confirmed the actress’s pregnancy. Comparing Samantha’s pregnancy with the film’s success, Nandini Reddy told Cinema Express:

“Her pregnancy comes at a beautiful time, as our film Maa Inti Bangaaram has become a success."

How did Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s pregnancy rumours begin?

The rumours around Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s pregnancy began when she attended the success party of her film, Maa Inti Bangaaram, with her husband, Raj Nidimoru. At the event, Sam wore a fitted top, which clearly showed her baby bump. The actress was seen happily celebrating with the film's cast. Her visible bump started the buzz that she is expecting a baby. Addressing the viral baby bump appearance at a public event, filmmaker, Nandini added that the actress made a conscious choice at the event. The couple has not yet made any announcement regarding their pregnancy.

Before marrying Raj Nidimoru, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was married to actor, Naga Chaitanya in 2017. After four years of marital bliss, the duo announced their separation in 2021. It was after their divorce announcement that producer Neelima Guna revealed that Samantha was actually planning to become a mother in the same year. According to Neelima, when she approached Samantha with an offer for a film, she was excited; however, she set a condition for signing the film: the shooting must be wrapped by July-August 2025, as she wanted to become a mother.

After her divorce from Naga Chaitanya in 2021, Samantha was devastated and met Raj, who offered her a role in The Family Man 2. Soon, Samantha and Raj struck up a great professional relationship, which grew into love. The actress started posting cosy pictures with Raj, sparking much speculation. On December 1, 2025, social media was abuzz with reports of Samantha’s marriage to Raj. The actress took to her IG handle and confirmed the news by posting droolworthy pictures from her wedding with Raj at the Ling Bhairavi Temple at the Isha Yoga Centre.

In an interview with Vogue India, Samantha Ruth Prabhu spoke about her marriage to Raj Nidimoru and how healing made her a better person. Speaking about her separation from Naga Chaitanya, she stated:

“I went through a separation, I closed up completely. I didn’t think it would ever be possible to rely on someone else. Thankfully, I was vulnerable enough to accept that kind of love and friendship. And I’m a much better person because of the relationship I’m in. Because of the person Raj (Nidimoru) is.”
