The heartthrob of millions- Salman Khan turns 47 today. From a romantic lover boy in film Maine Pyaar Kiya to our favourite cop ‘Chulbul Pandey’ in Dabangg, Salman has come a long way in his filmi career. Yes, but one thing that has not changed over the years is his ‘marital status’.
“Salman bhai shaadi kab karoge?” this is one question which not just his fans but the whole Bollywood asks him all the time. So, on his birthday, let’s take you through the tumultuous love life of the most eligible bachelor and the Dabangg actor of Bollywood- Salman Khan.
Salman has played Saajan to Shaheen, Sangeeta Bijlani, Somy Ali, Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif (in that order) with a couple of flings here and there. He was Sanam Bewafa to both Shaheen and Sangeeta. He left Shaheen for Sangeeta and Sangeeta for Somy. Although Sangeeta made a big fuss about it, Salman was unfazed and sang Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya for Somy.
It was believed that Somy would finally be Salman’s Partner for life, but she needed him to ask her Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and he wasn’t ready for that. It was reported that he thought she was childish and needed to mature to be a superstar’s Biwi Ho To Aisi. She finally left him and went to live with her mother in Florida. Salman wasn’t ready to break the Bandhan and tried to convince her by saying Jaanam Samjha Karo but to no avail. He was in a phase of Khamoshi, till he met and fell in love with the world-famous beauty Aishwarya Rai (Bachchan) and as they say, the rest is history.
Aaahh! Salman and Aishwarya, some fans loved them together and some hated. Salman screamed from the rooftops that he was Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam for this chaand kaa tukdaa and Aishwarya too declared Hum Saath Saath Hain. However, soon the ideal Ek Ladka Ek Ladki were in troubled waters. It was reported that Salman’sTere Naampersona of obsessed-lover was the problem. When Salman’s love turned aggressive, Aishwarya called it quits. Salman wasn’t going to take it lying down. Everyone knows the movie saga that unfolded after that – the fights, the door-banging, the restraining order and the police. There was a collective heavy sigh from the public. Our national prediction of a happily-ever-after was shattered, once again.
Salman was in a phase of Tumko Naa Bhool Payenge yet again. Then, walked in Katrina Kaif. They are together or are-they-not? Their relationship was very surprisingly kept under wraps. For Salman, Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai, it was always very public, but with Katrina it was uncharacteristically Chori Chori Chupke Chupke.
By now even the fans have given up hope and following it passively seeing where and how they both will go. They have reportedly broken-up now, with no reports of midnight brawls.
So once again Salman is in the look-out for a Jaan-E-Mann. Hope to see him sing Dulhan Hum Le Jaayenge soon.
