Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s love story is one of a kind and total filmy. Love sparks flew between them when they were shooting together for the film Tashan in 2008. After a bitter end to her relationship with Shahid, Kareena found solace in Saif, and the rest, as it is said, is history! After dating each other for five long years, they finally decided on forever by taking the plunge on October 16, 2012.
But do you know Kareena had rejected Saif’s marriage proposal twice before finally saying ‘Yes’ to him? Well yeah, Kareena had once revealed that the first proposal happened in Paris at the Ritz Hotel when they were vacationing. The second proposal happened on the same trip at the Notre Dame Church. Both the times she had said no, but eventually after two days the much-awaited ‘Yes’ came from her. In a recent interaction with the Hello! Magazine, Saif shared how he and Kareena manage to strike a perfect balance between their work and personal life. He was quoted as saying, “Kareena and I don’t live just for our work, we do believe in balancing it all out, we work hard so we can enjoy having time to hangout as a family, enjoy a nice holiday, have nice meals; one without the other would become ayaashi, or then too much of a drag. That balance we both instinctively understand.”
Earlier, in a heart-to-heart conversation with The Times of India, when Kareena was asked if she was willing to sign more films since Taimur is grown up, she had remarked, “Look, it is not just Taimur but I am also managing time for my family. Balancing professional and personal life is an art and I have learnt it. But I think I do it because I love spending time with my family and with Taimur. In another interview with a leading daily, Kareena put forth her thoughts in the best possible manner, stating that women are multitaskers. The Veere Di Wedding actress had quipped, “I was always clear about what I wanted. People had advised me not to get married because they felt producers film offer nahi karenge. They had told me I shouldn’t work while I was pregnant. But everything is possible — women multitask.”
She had further gone on to add, “You can be a mother and do your job as well. So many people around the world are doing that and we might not know about their stories. But, obviously, because I’m an actress, the spotlight is on me. This show gives an opportunity to everyone to share their real stories. We have common people addressing their issues. And, of course, there are celebrities because we want to hear them. Longevity is in yourself — if you keep going, change is bound to happen.”
Kareena also stated that she would love to be at home spending time with her son, Taimur, but she would not do it all the time. Explaining what she does when she works for 4-5 days at a stretch, the actress had remarked, “I love doing nothing and being at home, just with my son, Taimur. But again, I also know that I can’t always do that. So, the idea is to find that balance. Strangely and honestly, I’ve found the perfect balance between my personal and professional life. And had further added, “I need to have my family and friends around because my life revolves around them. I need to feel like a human being. I can’t treat myself like a robot because this industry and the atmosphere pushes you to become one. People are always on the go — if you’re not at work or a set, you’re on digital platforms like Instagram and Twitter or talking somewhere and giving your comments.”
In fact, a source close to her had recently revealed her talent of managing everything like a pro and told the DNA, “Kareena has always balanced her professional and personal life well. She has a choc-a-block schedule ahead with four big movies coming up. She is likely to shoot for Angrezi Medium either in July-end or August, then there’s Takht and Lal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan. Her film, Good News, with Akshay Kumar, will release at the end of this year for which the promotions will begin a month before. She is flying down from London only for a day so that she can spend more time with Taimur. Besides, she endorses 17 brands, so there will be quite a few campaigns that she will be shooting for."
