The shaadi season in India is not just a union of two souls, but a grand party that is celebrated by who's who of the ladkewalas and ladkiwalas. From pre-phera parties to bachelorette, mehendi, sagan and whatnot, there is a function for every day and everyone happily gets dressed for it. Right now, we are in the middle of the enchanting world of shaadis, we have tonnes of invitation and it seems like everyone is tying the knot. Like every year, our eyes are glued to the Tinseltown as we eagerly wait for grand celebrity weddings. And in the midst of it, we spotted Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan attending the actress' cousin, Armaan Jain's Roka ceremony. Before we take you further into the story, let us take a recap of Kareena's favourite cousin, Armaan's love story. Armaan is the son of Karisma and Kareena's bua, Rima Jain and her husband, Manoj Jain. Since 2014, the rumours of Armaan dating a South Mumbai girl, Anissa Malhotra has been riffed. However, on July 30, 2019, Armaan turned the rumours into a piece of news when he had proposed Anissa.
On December 14, 2019, the Jains hosted a grand roka ceremony for their son, Armaan Jain and soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Anissa Malhotra. The entire Kapoor clan was present to celebrate their cousin's happiness. But it was Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan's appearance together that took our heart away. Kareena looked gorgeous in a red traditional suit with golden embroidery all over it. She accentuated her look with statement earrings, dewy pink-toned makeup and kohl-filled eyes. Karisma Kapoor also attended her cousin, Armaan's roka ceremony. And we also got hold of pictures of Armaan with his fiance, Anissa. The bride-to-be looked gorgeous in a baby pink lehenga while Armaan complemented her in a white short kurta with a bandhgala over it.
Coming back to Armaan and Anissa's love story, we got the happy news of their union on July 31, 2019, when Armaan had shared the pictures of the big proposal on his Instagram handle. Alongside it, he had written, "The moment I eagerly waited for 7 years finally arrived, the most nervous moment in my life. The butterflies in my belly all seem a hype when I think of my first school exam or my first shot in front of the camera. You walked in and every sensation went numb. Everything I rehearsed in my mind was out in a jiffy. I finally realised what my yoga teacher said when he meant to go blank and be in the moment. As I walked you, my most beautiful @anissamalhotra down the aisle and finally onto my knees, my heart was pounding, my mouth was dry, everything was hazy and I felt an unexplainable emotion like I did when I first met you, We’ve come along way Jaan, fought all the odds (come rain come storm) like yesterday as well. Thank you for being my backbone and pillar of strength and sticking with me through thick and thin." He post could be further read as "YOU are the woman of my dreams and I am the luckiest man! None of this was possible without our most generous parents, our most adorable cupid @aadarjain who metaphorically introduced US once again and all our extended family, i.e. our friends who were a part of yesterday and more importantly an integral part of our most beautiful journey in the last 7 years. The big proposal had definitely taken hearts of every girl, and we instantly got reminded of the time when Armaan's big sister, Kareena had revealed that she had denied her husband, Saif's proposal twice. Yes! in an interview with Pinkvilla, Kareena had revealed an interesting detail about her love story with Saif. She had shared that Saif had proposed to her, but every time she said she don't know. In Kareena's own words, "He did tell me that ‘I think we should get married’. He told me that in Greece and he told me that in Ladakh as well. And at that time I was like ‘I don’t know because I don’t know you’. So it was not really a ‘no’ but it was more like an ‘I want to know you better.'" Kareena further called it the best decision of her life.
Earlier, in an interview with Humans of Bombay, Kareena had talked about how love brewed between her and Saif. She had shared, "When I thought I was falling, Saif caught me. I’d met him before, but while we were filming Tashan, something changed. I wore my heart on my sleeve! He was so charming; I fell for him hook, line & sinker. I remember while shooting in Ladakh & Jaisalmer, we’d go on long bike rides for some alone time. We’d enjoy the beauty, have great conversations & just bond!" (Don't Miss: K.G.F.
