Taking to his IG handle on November 15, 2023, Sachin Tendulkar dropped a heartwarming snapshot of Virat Kohli, right after he scored 50th ODI century at the semi-final match against New Zealand during World Cup 2023. However, it was Sachin’s special note of praise for Virat that won hearts. Recalling the first time when he saw a young Virat Kohli at the dressing room of the team, Sachin beamed with happiness as the former broke his record. He mentioned:
“The first time I met you in the Indian dressing room, you were pranked by other teammates into touching my feet. I couldn’t stop laughing that day. But soon, you touched my heart with your passion and skill. I am so happy that that young boy has grown into a ‘Virat’ player. I couldn’t be happier that an Indian broke my record. And to do it on the biggest stage - in the World Cup Semi-Final - and at my home ground is the icing on the cake.”

It was way back in 2018 when Virat Kohli became the first Indian cricketer to complete 10,000 ODI runs, that too in 205 innings. However, what was more rewarding is the fact that he broke the legend of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar’s previous record of the same runs, which he did within 259 innings, back in the year 2001.
