In life, no matter how hard one tries to build a relationship, if it is not meant to be, it won’t work. You might put in a lot of effort to rebuild the cracks of a relationship or try to fix it but it is always best to move on. There is no point in hanging on to a relationship or living with the thought that everything will be fine one day. But it is always wise to end a relationship on a good note before it turns unbearable and nasty. Gone are the days when exes won’t be cordial with each other. The rumours about Ridhi Dogra and Raqesh Bapat’s separation had been in the news for quite some time. It was later when the duo had confirmed the same by releasing a joint statement about their separation after seven years of marriage. The news was a shock for all their fans, who were heartbroken with Raqesh and Ridhi parting ways as a couple. But both Raqesh and Ridhi had made their fans proud as they didn’t let their separation affect their friendship. From partying together to celebrating each other’s birthday, the two have been giving major friendship goals to millennials.
On May 29, 2020, Ridhi took to her Instagram handle and shared a throwback picture with ex-husband, Raqesh to mark their friendship day. Along with the picture, she also acknowledged being proud of their relationship and how even after their separation, they managed to carry faith, joy and mutual respect for one another. Her caption can be read as “Every where in the world people talk about hate and grief and betrayal and hurt. None talks about all the good things that also make up this world. And I am talking about us and just how amazing we are @raqeshbapat. I am proud of the grace and compassion we both have shown. I am proud of the joy and faith, for life, we still hold. I am proud of the integrity and respect we carry!”
Expressing her gratitude to Nichiren Buddhism for evolving her true humanity, she further wrote, “I want to acknowledge and express my gratitude to #nichirenbuddhism for helping me be a living example of what true humanity can do for us humans if we are always in awareness of our choices. Even in hopelessness there is hope. Even in the faithless there is faith. Even in every end there is a beginning. And for all the things people learn from one another, I hope you pick some of the goodness too!!!! Kindness shouldn't be a thing you show by always walking away into a better life and escaping." Wishing her ex-husband-cum-best friend, Raqesh on their friendship day, Ridhi concluded her note, “If you just decide to choose it over and above the negative emotions by being present where you are, It will open your heart and put you directly one with the universe and it's magnanimous energies. It's all about being open to choices. And being aware of those choices. Next time just notice is it your ego making the choice or your soul? In an interview with Pinkvilla, Ridhi had opened up about sharing a cordial relationship with her ex-husband, Raqesh. When asked how she derives the strength to be this mature? Ridhi had retorted, "I think it is very simple. I think everyone has their differences. But you know life is very long and when you get a perspective, which we all have, but we miss it when we go about our daily lives. This day, this moment is a speck in this very very big life. When you get that perspective, you are able to let go and move on and cherish the goodness."
