However, she was recently left perplexed by a crazy fan encounter, where a fan inappropriately touched her and she was left uncomfortable.
On June 30, 2023, Richa Chadha was spotted at the Mumbai airport as she jetted away for work. She was accompanied by her husband, Ali Fazal who came to drop her and bid her goodbye. For their day out, the celeb couple wore causals and looked uber cool. However, as soon as the duo made their way towards the entry gate, they were mobbed by a few fans. While both Richa and Ali politely aided their request for photos, the former was taken aback when a female fan forcefully pulled Richa towards her and touched her cheek. Nevertheless, Richa did not lose her cool and agreed to a few pictures. But, this crazy fan encounter left her seemingly uncomfortable.

As soon as the video of Richa from the crazy fan encounter at the airport, a section of netizens bombarded it as they came out in support of the actress. They pointed out how the fans crossed their limits and misbehaved with the actress, which was totally unacceptable. While someone mentioned, ‘Like paps and media mannerless, fans are also giving the same vibe’ another fan wrote, ‘Fans ajkal kuch zyada hi crazy nahi ho rhe’.
In an earlier interview with India Today, Richa Chadha had opened up on how she deals with aspects like validation and criticism in a competitive field like the film industry. She mentioned that unlike any other actress, she does not have any desire to be relevant or seek validation for her work in the industry. She emphasised that films are just like work to her and it is her driving spirit. In her words:
“I have no desire to be relevant. I have no desire to have validation from critics or from viewers or from reviewers. I rarely watch things that I have done. It is not that I am not interested in my work. It keeps me alive. It is everything to me. It is the spark that gives my life meaning. But I am just at a place where I feel like I have made something and it has this confluence of energies.”

Richa Chadha tied the knot with her soulmate and actor, Ali Fazal on September 30, 2022. The duo had dated for a long time and had even been legally married for almost two years, before they celebrated it ceremonially in 2022. The duo had a lavish cocktail party, followed by mehendi and sangeet, post which they tied the knot in a traditional Muslim nikaah. For the same, the duo had twinned in white-hued ensembles from the shelves of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
