Renowned singer, Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK had left for the heavenly abode on May 31, 2022, leaving his huge fanbase, friends and family devastated. The great singer had made a mark in the music industry with his melodious songs sung in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Bengali, Assamese and Gujarati languages. And with his innumerable tracks, he has already etched an unerasable place in the playlists of millions of people.
However, it was during a live concert on Kolkata's Nazrul Mancha when he had started to feel uneasy. Afterwards, upon rushing to a hospital from his hotel, post 10 PM, the singer had collapsed. And as he was rushed to CMRI hospital, he was declared brought dead. According to a source close to the Kolkata police, KK's face and body bore bruises which had led to suspicion. From certain media reports, we had also got to know that the post-mortem was conducted at SSKM hospital on June 1, 2022, to ascertain the cause of death. And the Kolkata police was also doing a thorough questioning session with the hotel staff and the event organisers and had also registered a case of unnatural death for the investigation in the matter.

Recently, we got to know about the real cause behind KK's untimely demise. According to the Kolkata Police, the final post-mortem and chemical analysis reports reveal that the cause behind KK's death was "myocardial infarction". It was also mentioned that due to excessive buildup of cholesterol, it narrowed down the posterior intramuscular artery, which in turn hampered the heart's ability to pump blood. The blockage was also seen in the coronary artery. Thus, it clarified all the suspicions regarding KK's unnatural death. In an interview with the Quint, an official could be heard saying:
"But after the preliminary and final post mortem reports, as well as the chemical analysis report, the theory of unnatural death can be ruled out now."
For the unversed, KK was married to his childhood love, Jyothi Krishna and together, they have two kids, Nakul Krishna and Taamara Kunnath. On June 2, 2022, the singer's doting daughter, Taamara had taken to her IG handle and had expressed her love for her father. She had uploaded a funeral card of KK on her IG stories and had written an emotional note with a heart emoji. It was indeed the most challenging time for the little girl. Alongwith it, she penned:
“Love you forever dad”

On June 2, 2022, KK was cremated at Versova Hindu Cemetery, and it was his son, Nakul Krishna Kunnath, who had performed the last rites. Nakul had lit his father's pyre and soon after this, he had broken down into tears. The heart-wrenching moment had made everyone present over there, emotional.
KK and his melodious tracks would remain in everyone's hearts, even after he had left for the heavenly abode!
