On Sunil Dutt's Birth Anniversary, His Son Sanjay Dutt Recalls Their Emotional Scene In 'Munna Bhai'

The year 2003 holds a special place in the hearts of the entire Dutt family as it was the year that had bought the most memorable performance of a father-son duo on the big screen through the film, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. In the film directed by Raju Hirani, the late legendary actor, Sunil Dutt and his son, Sanjay Dutt had portrayed the roles of a father-son duo. Their performance had received immense love from the audience. However, it was the last sequence of the film, which had featured a beautiful moment between the father-son duo in the film that is still remembered as one of the most touching scenes in Hindi films.

Fast forward to 2022, and on the late actor, Sunil Dutt's birth anniversary, his doting son, Sanjay Dutt recalled the same scene and also penned a few words in his father's memory. With his emotional post, Sanjay once again proved that even after so many years of his dad's passing, he is still very much attached to him and misses him terribly.

On June 6, 2022, Sanjay Dutt took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture collage to wish his late father and iconic actor, Sunil Dutt on his birth anniversary. The picture collage consisted of two pictures from their 'jaadu ki jhappi' sequence in their blockbuster film, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. The picture collage brought back all the beautiful memories of the time, when the father-son duo was working together in the memorable film, which was directed by their close friend and director, Raju Hirani. Along with the picture collage, the doting son also penned a heart-melting note in his father, Sunil Dutt's memory, and it can be read as:

"Your belief and love helped make me who I am today. You were, are and will always be my hero. Happy birthday, Dad."

Earlier this year, on May 25, 2022, Sanjay Dutt had taken to his IG handle and had dropped a lovely photo with his father, late Sunil Dutt in order to pay tribute to his dearest daddy on his 17th death anniversary. In the picture shared by Sanjay, we could see the doting son sitting behind his father and had looked dashing in a dark blue-coloured shirt. However, it was his father, Sunil Dutt's evergreen smile towards the camera that had melted everyone's hearts. Along with the picture, Sanjay had penned a heart-melting note in the caption, in which he had referred to his daddy, Sunil Dutt, as the 'best father' in the world. His teary-eyed note could be read as:

"Through thick and thin, you were always there to guide and protect me. You were my strength, inspiration and support in every need... the best a son could ask for. You will always be in my heart Dad, I miss you!"

For the unversed, it was on May 25, 2005, when Indian cinema had lost one of the most loved actors of all time, Sunil Dutt due to a heart attack. When the tragic news about Sunil Dutt's demise had surfaced in the media, it had saddened the entire nation, as he was everyone's favourite. However, while the whole nation was numbed, it was a turbulent moment for his son, Sanjay Dutt, for whom his father's support was the reason why he had succeeded in bringing his life back on track. Sunil Dutt was cremated at Santa Cruz Crematorium in Mumbai. In 2018, Sanjay had a conversation with IANS and had talked about his late father's demise and how important he was in his life. Sanjay had said:

"Whatever I am today is because of my father. He is my inspiration and I miss him every day. I did not always share an easy relationship with him. But he always stood by me. I wish he was here to see me as a free man and the beautiful family that I have today. He would have been proud."
