Raveena Tandon is one of the most stunning actresses of her time. She made her acting debut with the 1991 action film, Patthar Ke Phool. Since then, she has worked in one after the other iconic movies and swooned us with her onscreen presence. However, the actress was also called 'thunder thighs' and other names during her early days in the industry. But giving no heed to them, she kept appearing in several films. But there were also some instances when the actress had rejected certain offers. She revealed one such instance in a recent interview.
Once, choreographer, Farah Khan revealed that almost every heroine, including Raveena Tandon, in the 90s, refused to do the iconic song, Chaiyya Chaiyya from Dil Se. This was when Farah discovered Malaika Arora as she was then dating the former's close friend, Arbaaz Khan. Now, in a conversation with the BBC Asian Network podcast, Raveena was asked if she was approached for the same, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan. To this, Raveena gave an affirmative answer and mentioned that she turned down the iconic song due to certain scenes in it. Explaining the same, she said:
"I remember SRK saying that 'Mani sir wants to talk to you because he wants you to do the song for us. And I was in a very awkward situation because although I was dying to work with Mani Ratnam Sir but then just being offered an item song again, it would have been stereotyping myself and in those days people used to get typecast, you used to get stereotyped."

Thus, Raveena was then asked if she regretted her decision to turn down the offer. To this, she mentioned how she believes in the parallel life and added, "I believe that if I change anything the way it is, I don't believe I'd be sitting here talking to you." Further, the actress praised Shah Rukh and shared her admiration for him. In Raveena's words:
"I love him. He is one of the warmest people on this planet."
Earlier, in an interaction with The Indian Express, Raveena had revealed how the iconic film of 1993, Darr, was offered to her initially, but she stepped back from it due to her Miss World pageant. She also mentioned how she wasn’t comfortable with some of the scenes from the film and revealed how she never ended up sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan. Raveena mentioned:
“Darr was something that I was offered but I stepped back. Darr had come to me first, though it was not vulgar, but earlier there were some scenes in Darr, I was not comfortable with. One film got shut because the director passed away. I didn’t do the second film because I was not happy with the costumes so I stepped back from that. We did Zamana Deewana but that also got delayed.”

On the work front, Raveena was last seen in the series, Karmma Calling. Earlier, in 2021, the actress made her web series debut with Aranyak. However, the following year, she returned to the big screen with the blockbuster film, KGF: Chapter 2, which was also her Kannada cinema debut. Moreover, in 2023, she was awarded the fourth highest Indian civilian honour, Padma Shri, and gave inspirational goals to many young actresses. Now, she is busy shooting for her upcoming film, Welcome 3, and has Patna Shukla and Ghudchadi in her pipeline.
