She was quoted as saying, “I'm Adira's paparazzi, I'm constantly clicking her. I'm with the camera constantly. So, I can't not like the paparazzi because I'm one myself for my daughter. I think it's a very personal decision when parents come and talk about their children. I was very clear, so was Adi, that Adira needs to have a very normal upbringing and that can only happen when the attention is not completely focussed on her and she isn't in the limelight." Rani Mukerji, during the same interview, also emphasised on the fact that being born in families related to the entertainment world automatically becomes famous and it doesn’t have pros and cons. Rani also emphasised that protecting the kids is the sole responsibility of the parents. She had further stated, “We can't deny that she automatically becomes known because she's born in a family where her parents are known. That becomes an advantage or a disadvantage that goes with it. But still, as much as we can, we try. I hope I try and protect her as much as I can.” Rani had also revealed that she is thankful to the media for allowing her to have her own space, by not clicking her daughter in several instances.
Many celebrities lose their temper on the media for following their kids everywhere and continuously clicking them. But Rani Mukerji has a different take on this and had stated that in her case, she has been lucky, and the paparazzi have been very helpful and understanding. She had also revealed that wherever she goes when she requests the paps to not click Adira’s picture, they have been supportive and doesn’t click her. She concluded by saying that she doesn’t think the paparazzi of another country is not the same as India and she has been lucky that way.
Recently, at an event in Singapore, Rani had talked about juggling motherhood and work and had stated, "For me to leave [my daughter] and go for a shoot was a completely different experience then when I was single and when I went to a film shoot. Actually, the first day of the shoot when I actually left home, I was bawling in the car. I was like going through emotions of guilt and emotions of being scared as a mum that what would happen to my child that I'm leaving behind. So, the film had to be really really special for me to be able to leave my baby home and go to the film set."
In an interview with the Filmfare during her movie promotions, Rani had revealed how she manages to shoot and spend time with her daughter and had said, “I always take the slot of the afternoon because she sleeps at this time. So, I take the advantage and when she is sleeping, I kind of come, do my work and go back home. When I was shooting for the film also, I used to go early in the morning to shoot and five-six hours of work I used to finish in the morning and go back home before her lunchtime. So, she doesn't miss me too much because when a baby wakes up, she has her own routine."
