She entered the Bollywood with Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat and in a career span of more than two decades, there is no Paheli that she made her way into our hearts Chalte Chalte. Be it the foul-mouthed Meera in No One Killed Jessica or fierce Shivani in Mardaani, Rani Mukerji managed to spread Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic to her audience with her commendable films. It was on April 21, 2014, Rani Mukerji had tied the knot with the well-acclaimed director of B-town, Aditya Chopra, in an intimate wedding ceremony. Rani and Aditya had a secret wedding and a-year-and-a-half post their marital bliss, the couple was blessed with a baby girl, Adira Chopra. Aditya and Rani have managed to keep Adira away from the media limelight and are enjoying the parenthood phase with their daughter.
To mark her 42nd birthday, Rani Mukerji shared how her idea of birthday has changed over the years. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Rani stated, “I'm a huge birthday person but I have always had exams going on around my birthday. So I have never been able to celebrate it well as a kid ever.. It's only after I got married that my husband (Aditya Chopra) celebrates my birthday. I'm that complete birthday person who loves balloons, samosas, sandwich, chips, cake (smiles). But none of that happens now. Those days have gone and now, I go all out for my daughter Adira's birthday.”
When asked what does she do for her birthdays now, Rani Mukerji retorted, “I just spend time with my family. I take a complete off and stay at home with Adi and Adira.” Revealing if Adira understands that her mother is an actor, Rani remarked, “Yes, she understands I'm an actor. She's growing up so of course, now I can do more films. She's very supportive and at her age, she's so mature. She's just four and I'm blessed to have a child like her. She understands now that I'm going for shooting and it breaks my heart now, every time I leave her knowing she would miss me, but she's very independent as a child. She gets that from her father. Then, there will be days when she will be expressing how much she misses me and then, there will also be days where she will be okay with me working. I'm happy that the balance has been created this early. I don't shoot long hours. Even if I'm shooting, I'm particular about my timings.” (Also Read: Mira Rajput Kapoor Reveals Challenges She Had Faced In Pregnancy Journey And The Best Thing About It)
When asked how does Adira react to seeing her mother on TV or posters, Rani Mukerji revealed, “She has noticed me and recognised me. She reacts and says, 'Mumma'. She gets very wide eyed when I get ready for my shoot. She likes to give me my clothes and then she will say Bye, All the best to me when I'm leaving. We travel together and she now knows people like to take pictures with me. So she's understood that slowly slowly.”
On January 5, 2020, Aditya Chopra’s brother and Adira Chopra’s chachu, Uday Chopra had turned a year older and to make his day special, his niece had given him an adorable gift. Adira had painted a ‘Star Wars’ inspired birthday card for her chachu, and Uday had captioned it as “My little niece made this for me today. The force is strong with her!!!”
In an interview with a media portal, Rani Mukerji had revealed what her hubby, Aditya Chopra and daughter, Adira Chopra don’t like about her. Rani had stated, “Now slowly we started to tell her that I used to go for shoot. So yesterday when I came back from promotions, she asked me, 'mama aap shooting pe gayi thi?' I said haan. Then she asked, "makeup nikaal diya?” She understands now. Because when she sees me without makeup, she feels very happy. Both her father (Aditya Chopra) and she always have this complain that I should never be in makeup. Even my husband, when I come back, he says, go first remove your makeup.” (Also Read: Aayush Sharma Spends His Quarantine With Arpita Khan Sharma And Kids, Ahil Sharma And Ayat Sharma)
