Ranbir Kapoor Finally Reacts To Alia Bhatt's Lipstick Statement, 'Read Articles About Being Toxic..'

Ranbir Kapoor is a terrific actor, who has, time and again, won everyone’s hearts with his powerful performances in films. Now, his fans have been sitting with bated breath and eagerly waiting for his next film, Animal. Ahead of the film's release, Ranbir gave his fans a surprise, as he took out time to interact with them through a video session. The actor talked about various aspects of his life and also made some interesting revelations.

Ranbir Kapoor on dealing with the negativity around him

During the interaction with his fans, Ranbir Kapoor opened up about the negativity around him and revealed how he deals with it. He mentioned that negativity is very important to create a balance in an artist's life because people have a lot of opinions of him as an actor. Adding that most of the time, people's opinions about him are not even true, Ranbir said:

“I'm not on social media, so I don’t have to need to deal with it which is a great thing. But I feel negativity is very important especially if you are an artist and if you have some work out there, I think both need to exist because then that creates a balance. You know sometimes a lot of things are written about you as an actor, a lot of opinions are made which are not necessarily true."

However, Ranbir shared that his public image has been created by the movies or the characters he plays, the media and the public, but he doesn't own that image. He also added that he takes negative criticism with a pinch of salt as his main focus is to prove himself as an actor. In his words:

"And I take it with a pinch of salt because this image of mine which has been created by the movies or the characters I play or by media is something that I don’t own. It’s owned by the public, it’s owned by people who like my work or dislike my work, and they are allowed to say anything about me as long as they give my work a chance. You know, as long as I can prove to them as an actor and that has always been my focus is just to act."

Ranbir Kapoor on Alia Bhatt's lipstick statement

For some time now, Ranbir Kapoor has been on the receiving end of the trolls, courtesy of his controversial remark on Alia Bhatt's lipstick. In the same session, Ranbir addressed the rumours about him being toxic and misogynist and recalled reading some articles about him after Alia revealed he asked her to remove her lipstick. Throwing light on the same, he said:

"Recently, I was reading some article about being toxic and something relating to some statement I made and I understand this. And I am on the side of the people who are fighting for the toxic masculinity, if they use me as the face of it, it’s fine because their fight is bigger than just me feeling bad about them having an opinion about what I said.”
