Ram Charan's Elder Daughter Is 'Daddy's Girl', Upasana Revealed Before Couple Welcomed Twins

It's a double celebration for the Konidela family! Actor, Ram Charan and his entrepreneur wife, Upasana Konidela, welcomed twins on January 31, 2026. The couple's firstborn, Kaara, is now a big sister to a baby boy and a baby girl. The happy news was announced by Ram Charan's father, Chiranjeevi, through a heartfelt social media post. He shared that the mother and the newborns are healthy and doing well, and expressed immense joy at becoming a grandfather again. As Upasana becomes a mom for the second time, her comments regarding Kaara's favourite parent resurfaced.

Upasana and Ram Charan's first child is a 'daddy's girl'

Upasana and Ram Charan's first child, daughter Klin Kaara Konidela, was born on June 20, 2023, in Hyderabad. Being the only child until the birth of her siblings, Kaara was her parents' entire world, and both Upasana and Ram Charan loved her equally. However, the toddler clearly had a favourite, and it was her father. During an interview with Galatta Ritz, Upasana described that Kaara is a "daddy's girl". She has humorously admitted to being "extremely jealous" of their bond, noting that Klin Kaara's face lights up and she gets a special twinkle in her eyes whenever she sees her father. Regarding that, Upasana stated:

 "I think we both play a significant role in parenting. Whatever a mom is expected to do, I think the dad is doing more than that. We're equally raising Kaara, it's beautiful. Ram is a hands-on dad. She's a daddy's girl, and I am extremely jealous. When she sees her dad, her face lights up. There's a special smile, a twinkle in her eyes, and I'm like, come on."

Besides playfully sulking over Kaara loving Ram Charan more than her, Upasana also credited him for being an amazing parent. According to her, he did everything for their daughter that society expects a mother to do. The couple was raising Kaara, sharing the responsibilities "equally". Fans were amazed to learn that, despite his demanding acting career, Ram Charan never failed to fulfil his daddy duties. The two-year-old, Kaara, has now become the big sister of two siblings. Fans can't wait to see the dynamics that the three littluns will share once the twins arrive at their home with Upasana and Ram Charan.

When Upasana shared her desire for another child

Upasana Konidela, the wife of Telugu star Ram Charan, first expressed her desire for a second child in early 2024, stating she was "ready for round two" and felt emotionally and physically prepared to expand their family. Her wish was fulfilled the next year as she got pregnant with twins. On October 23, 2025, during Diwali celebrations, Upasana officially announced her second pregnancy. She shared a video from her Seemantham (baby shower) ceremony, describing the occasion as "double the celebration, double the love."

At that time, the caption was thought to indicate two happy occasions: Diwali and pregnancy; however, after the birth of Ram Charan and Upasana's twins, fans now see it as a subtle hint of their twins' upcoming birth. Upasana has been vocal about her journey into motherhood, previously advocating for women's reproductive rights and sharing that she chose to freeze her eggs at 29 to ensure she could embrace motherhood when she felt truly ready.
