Ram Charan Welcomed Twins: Chiranjeevi Wanted Him To Have A Boy, 'Scared He Might Again Have A Girl'

Now, the duo's family is completed with the arrival of the actor's twins. Upasana, earlier, expressed her wish to become a mom for the second time. However, she and Ram Charan kept their second pregnancy hush-hush.

Chiranjeevi wanted Ram Charan to have a son

It was only a few weeks ago that Ram Charan's team confirmed that the actor and Upasana had been expecting twins. The couple welcomed their two little munchkins recently, and on January 31, 2026, the news was shared by Chiranjeevi. Megastar Chiranjeevi wanted to have a grandson through his son, Ram Charan, and he once spoke about it. While he expressed his wish to have a grandson, he made a statement which was not well-received. So, what did he say? Let's have a look!

Chiranjeevi was worried, thinking Ram Charan might have another girl

It was back in February 2025, when Chiranjeevi attended the Brahma Anandam pre-release event as the chief guest, and while being there, he made a comment that raised eyebrows. He stated that when he is at his home, it doesn't feel like he is surrounded by his granddaughters, it feels like he is a ladies' hostel warden, surrounded by ladies. While this comment caught the attention, Chiranjeevi mentioned that he wanted his son, Ram Charan, to have a son in the future so that their legacy could be carried forward.

Such a comment didn't go down well with the netizens, who started slamming Chiranjeevi. Chiranjeevi further added that Ram Charan's daughter, Klin, is the apple of his eye, so he was worried, thinking that his son might have another daughter. Chiranjeevi could be quoted as saying:

"When I'm at home, it doesn't feel like I'm surrounded by my granddaughters; it feels like I'm a ladies' hostel warden, surrounded by ladies all around. I keep wishing and telling (Ram) Charan, at least this time, to have a boy so that our legacy continues, but his daughter is the apple of his eye... I'm scared that he might again have a girl."

Chiranjeevi announced the birth of his twin grandkids

Ram Charan and Upasana kept their second pregnancy under wraps. It has been since October 2025, when the speculations were rife about Upasana expecting again. A few weeks after that, Ram Charan's team confirmed the news that the power couple of Tollywood would embrace parenthood for the second time. Well, the duo welcomed their kids in January 2026, as confirmed by Chiranjeevi. He took to his X (Twitter) and shared the joyous news of the arrival of two tiny humans into the family. The proud grandfather shared that Upasana and her twins are doing just fine while expressing his gratitude.

Ram Charan and Upasana have known each other since college days. From college friends, they became best friends and eventually fell in love. The couple got married in 2012 and welcomed their daughter, Klin Kaara, in 2023. Upasana shared that she conceived Klin naturally while she had been freezing her eggs. Following the birth of Klin, Upasana also expressed her wish to have kids again, and her manifestation worked!
