Controversial queen, Rakhi Sawant is leading all the headlines once again as the Mumbai Sessions Court rejected her pre-arrest bail plea in a case filed by her ex-husband, Adil Khan Durrani. In his case, Adil had accused Rakhi of circulating explicit pictures and videos of him to multiple media channels.
While rejecting Rakhi’s bail plea, session Court Judge, Shrikant Bhosale stated that the materials shared by Rakhi were not only obscene but also sexually explicit. The judge also revealed that Rakhi has a criminal antecedent as a case of similar offence is pending against her. Talking about the same, Mr Bhosale stated:
“The relief of anticipatory bail is within the discretion of the court, and the court has to grant or refuse the said relief considering the facts and circumstances of a particular case... I am of the view that this is not a fit case to grant the relief of anticipatory bail.”

In the case, Adil accused Rakhi of violating his right to privacy by circulating his personal videos. Therefore, an FIR was lodged against her under sections 500 (defamation) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67A (publishing sexually explicit material in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act.
Rakhi, then approached the court through advocate Ali Kaashif Khan and sought an anticipatory bail. In her defence, she stated that the videos in question were shot by Adil Khan himself and that he did not disclose the same to the police. The prosecution opposed her plea and stated that the source of the publication of the videos.

Earlier, the court had granted interim protection to Rakhi in November 2023 and extended the interim protection till January 11, 2024. Not just this, the police also pointed out the involvement of another accused in this case, who has to be investigated.
For the unversed, after a few years of courtship, Adil and Rakhi announced their wedding in April 2022. And it was on January 2023 when Rakhi left everyone in utter shock as she announced her separation from her husband. The actress made some shocking claims against her estranged husband, including domestic violence, extramarital affairs, and more. However, Adil was in jail for a few months, and after returning, he dismissed Rakhi's claims.
