Adil Durrani and Somi Khan are two names grabbing the spotlight for quite some time now. The duo got hitched in an intimate nikaah ceremony in the presence of their friends and family members in Bangalore. However, their new beginnings became a topic of discussion amongst people, as Adil was previously married to Bollywood actress, Rakhi Sawant. The duo reportedly didn’t formally end their marriage and were acrimonious during their split, and Adil went onto marry a second time.
In a recent interaction with TellyMasala, Adil Durrani reacted to his former wife, Rakhi Sawant issuing a warning to his now wifey, Somi Khan. For the unversed, Rakhi gave a witty reaction to the duo’s marriage and remarked ‘Somi ko bacha lo’. And now, Adil responded back to the statement given by her and retorted that Rakhi should refrain from speaking in such a tone. Moreover, he sassily stated that his former wife must save the world from herself, while he is capable enough to safeguard his now wife, Somi Khan. In his words:
“Rakhi aise baat nahi karegi to bahut acha hoga. Rakhi se pehle duniya bach jaye wo bahut badi baat hai. Somi ko to main bacha lunga. Somi mere saath bahut protected hai. Ek coronavirus aata hai coronavirus hai wo aur usse duniya bach jaye bahut acha hai. Mumbai, India bahut shant hai ki wo jaake kahin dur baithe humlog ki wajha se aur main chahta hun ki wo hamesha udhar hi settled ho jaye. So that idhar log thoda sukoon ki zindagi kar le.”

Moving forward in the conversation, Somi Khan shared her view on Rakhi Sawant’s warning to her. The actress stated that such interviews and remarks doesn’t exist for her in the first place, and so she wouldn’t want to make a comment on them. Nevertheless, she emphasised that it was only with her husband, Adil that she felt extremely protected and safe. She mentioned:
“Mere liye na ye interviews exist krte hai na main janti hun us baare mein to kuch nahi bolna chahungi. Main bahut hi zada, sabse zada agar kisi ke saath acha feel karti hun, protected feel karti hun, loved feel karti hun to wo mere husband ke sath, and I feel blessed.”
In the concluding segment of the interview, Somi Khan revealed if she at any point of time, has felt insecure about her husband’s former wife, Rakhi Sawant. To this, she responded how during the initial years of her courtship with Adil, she never fathomed if such kind of things that he dealt with in his past, could actually happen in real life. Fast forward to now, she feels blessed that Adil is her husband, who makes her feel loved, secured and shields her from all negativity.

In another interview with ETimes TV, Adil Khan addressed the elephant in the room and talked about his previous marriage with Rakhi Sawant. He clearly stated that their wedding stands null and void as of today. Moreover, he accused Rakhi for being already married when she tied the knot with him, thereby cheating him. Adil said:
“If you talk about my wedding with Rakhi Sawant, it stands null and void as when we got married, she was already married to someone else. Mujhe dhokhe mein rakh ke usne kiya tha. There's already a court case going on. Many people have this question in their mind, how did I get married again? Alhamdulillah, I have the full right to get married again as I'm a Muslim, and I can get married."
