The romantic musical film portrays a love story featuring Rahul and Anu Aggarwal, which everybody longs for. However, Rahul's real life is far different from his reel life. He has been in several relationships and has been through heartbreaks as well. So without further ado, let's take a look at the tragic love life of the romantic hero of Bollywood, Rahul Roy.
In the 90s, Rahul Roy's charm was so much that no one could escape it. And the same was the case with Alia Bhatt's half-sister, Pooja Bhatt. For the unversed, Rahul and Pooja have worked together in several films like Jaanam, Junoon and Phir Teri Kahaani Yaad Aayee. And it was their films that brought the two closer to each other.
Reportedly, the then-lovebirds used to spend a lot of time together after shooting. However, their beautiful paradise didn't last long as the couple soon drifted apart because of their hectic schedules and careers. And to date, Rahul and Pooja have defended their romantic relationship by claiming that they were just "good friends".
Just after his breakup with Pooja Bhatt, Rahul Roy met the Nepali beauty, Manisha Koirala, who was trying to set her foot in the film industry. The duo met at the sets of their film, Majdhaar, in 1996. And just like others, Manisha too gave her heart out to the romantic hero of Bollywood, Rahul Roy. Soon, the couple started dating, and their relationship rumours were hitting off every newspaper headline.
However, their beautiful relationship could not continue for a longer time. Reportedly, Rahul Roy gave more prominence to his career than his girlfriend, Manisha Koirala which created problems between them. On the other hand, Manisha was looking for a stable relationship. After two failed relationships, Rahul Roy had finally found love in the South Indian beauty, Suman Ranganathan. For the unversed, Suman had made her acting debut in Bollywood with Vikram Bhatt's blockbuster film, Fareb, in 1996. According to multiple media reports, Rahul and Suman met through a mutual friend and soon realised their love for each other. Moreover, Suman had even moved in with Rahul.
However, after some time, Suman shifted her base to the South as she was getting more film offers over there. As a result, maintaining the long-distance relationship became difficult for the ex-couple. And after 3 years of their relationship, Rahul and Suman called it off. This news came as a shock for the industry as they were the "IT" couple of showbiz.
After dealing with multiple heartbreaks, Rahul had finally met the love of his life, the former Indian model, Rajlaxmi Khanvilkar in 1998. The then-much-in-love couple met for the first time at a party in Mumbai and found solace in each other. For the unversed, Rajlaxmi was earlier married to popular actor, Sameer Soni. However, they ended their relationship within six months of their marriage.
Coming back to Rahul and Rajlaxmi, after dating for almost two years, the duo had entered into marital bliss in the year 2000. At several instances, Rahul was seen praising his then-wife, Rajlaxmi for being an amazing person. However, after 14 years of their beautiful paradise, the couple parted ways with a mutual decision in 2014. Reportedly, it was Rajlaxmi's decision to shift her base to abroad that became a reason for their separation. Talking about his divorce, Rahul had said:
"We have filed for divorce by mutual consent. Rajlaxmi will always remain an integral part of my life. She shares the same sentiment. Her family is still my family, and that's that. I'll always be there for her."
After two years of his divorce from his wife, Rajlaxmi Khanvilkar, Rahul Roy met supermodel, Sadhana Singh. Soon, the duo started dating and Rahul had even talked about the same in an interview with DNA. Elaborating on the same, the Aashiqui actor mentioned that he had found love again. Rahul even said that he would talk more about his relationship when the time was right. In his words:
"When I met Sadhana, I thought it was perfect. Apart from the fact that she's a stunning woman, the reason why I love Sadhana is because the kind of human being she is. At this stgae in my life, I need something beyond looks. She's just perfect for me and everything that I am looking for."
However, Rahul and Sadhana's relationship also hit rock bottom. And the two eventually drifted apart, and the reason for their separation is best known to them.
