The journalist stated that he doesn't think Nick and Priyanka are worthy of giving this honour of announcing the nominations of the most prestigious awards on the planet, as he questioned Priyanka's credentials. Peter Ford's tweet can be read as "No disrespect to these two, but I'm not sure their contribution to movies qualifies them to be announcing Oscar nominees." After which, Priyanka Chopra took to her Twitter handle and gave a fiery response to him and posted a video of her filmography along with a tweet that reads, "Would love your thoughts on what qualifies someone. Here are my 60+ film credentials for your adept consideration."
After Priyanka Chopra Jonas' befitting reply to Peter Ford's remarks, the journalist clearly stated that he still thinks her credentials aren't enough to make her worthy of announcing the nomination of the Academy Awards. Peter quoted Priyanka's reply and penned a tweet in which he stated that the actress' fans have started abusing him for his remarks. His tweet can be read as "@priyankachopra was kind enough to remind me of her movie credentials. They are way more extensive than I knew - I fully accept that. However, my opinion hasn't changed. But way new experience to have someone with 27,000,000 followers coming after me-many of them angry & abusive." After some hours, Peter restricted his account in order to avoid more replies and reactions from Priyanka's fans and admirers.
