We are often intimidated by the luxurious things flaunted by celebrities. From clothes, bags, jewellery and whatnot, whatever they wear becomes a style statement. One such stylish actress is the Desi Girl of Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra. The global icon has often awestruck us by the way she carries herself and acing every look, be it modern or traditional.
In August 2021, Italian brand Bvlgari appointed Priyanka Chopra as its global brand ambassador. The company revealed that Priyanka would support the Roman high jewellery house and amplify it worldwide. Bvlgari, which is known for its high-end gemstones, jewellery and watches focuses on women empowerment.
A few days back, Bvlgari launched its first-ever exclusive Indian jewellery, a gold mangalsutra. Priyanka took to her IG handle to share pictures, flaunting the 18-karat luxurious piece, as she wore it for the latest cover of Vogue India. The mangalsutra, called the 'Bvlgari Bvlgari necklace' has a diamond in the centre with small black onyx stones, covered in double-logo gold circles. The beautiful piece is suspended from a gold chain, with black onyx beads in between. The gorgeous jewellery comes at a whopping price of Rs 3,49,000.
But the beautiful mangalsutra, flaunted by the global artist, Priyanka left the netizens fuming as they criticised the actress for promoting patriarchy and oppression. While the other section of the society praised Priyanka for promoting her culture globally. Take a look at the mixed reactions:
The brand describes the necklace as a “contemporary statement of elegance” and shared, “Recalling the curved inscriptions of ancient Roman coins, the double logo represented the first time an emblem had ever become a prominent jewellery design icon and remains a timeless trademark of Bvlgari’s creativity to this day.”
Priyanka Chopra got married to American pop sensation, Nick Jonas on December 1-2, 2018. The duo had tied the knot according to both Hindu as well as Christian rituals. Every picture from their wedding exuded royalty. For their Christian wedding, the couple had worn Ralph Lauren and for their Hindu wedding, they had opted for the designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
