Parents are always our support system, and they make all the efforts to fulfil all our dreams. From helping us take all the crucial decisions of our lives to being our honest critics, their words make a lot of difference to us. And an exactly similar relationship is shared between Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her mother, Madhu Chopra. From supporting her dream of becoming an actress to turning into a father figure after the death of her daddy, Ashok Chopra, Madhu Chopra has always been Priyanka’s strength. Priyanka Chopra is an inspiration to millions. Coming from an Army background, where both her parents, Ashok and Madhu Chopra had served as physicians, Priyanka was supposed to follow the footsteps of her parents. But the diva had carved her path and had chosen the glamour world instead. Do you know it was Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra, who had asked her to be a part of Femina Miss India contest in 2000? She had won Miss India and Miss World titles in 2000 and then was no looking back for her after that.
On October 27, 2020, Priyanka shared a video on her IG handle wherein, she and her mother, Madhu Chopra recalled the details of her Miss World crowning ceremony. In the video, Priyanka’s mother, Madhu revealed the ‘stupidest thing’ she told her daughter. Posting her crowning moment and her mother’s confession, Priyanka captioned the video as “Miss World, 2000. Picture this... I just turned 18 and won Miss World!! When I finally reunited with my parents among all the chaos on stage, the first thing my mom said to me was “babe, what’s going to happen with your studies?” #IndianMom #20in2020.”
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has always made sure to celebrate the birthday of ‘her backbone’ mother, Madhu Chopra. On June 16, 2019, PeeCee had shared a lovely mother-daughter selfie, and had written, "Best birthday girl ever. @madhumalati I love you. Thank you for being my rock.” On the other hand, son-in-law, Nick Jonas too had wished her on his social media handle by sharing an adorable Instagram story, atop which he had penned, “Happy Birthday @madhumalati Love you!” (Also Read: Kareena Kapoor Khan Tags Ex, Shahid Kapoor On 'Jab We Met' Post, Ishaan Khatter And Alia Bhatt React)
In an interview with After Hrs, Madhu had once revealed that she is very happy as Priyanka found the love of her dreams. Talking about Priyanka being an ambitious lady, Madhu had revealed, “Priyanka has always been ambitious about her career and I was just supporting her and wishing the best for her, as a mother. I used to pester her, but in the last two-three years, I had stopped. I had given up. Yeh sab cheez ka ek time hota hai, it’s all destiny. I told her that I want to meet Nick’s family.”
During the festivity and happiness of Priyanka and Nick’s wedding, an article had published in The Cut that had referred to our desi girl as a ‘global scam artist’, and it was Priyanka’s mother, Madhu, who had cleared her stance on the same. She had said, “It is a happy phase for our family, and we don’t want to be disturbed by such idiotic things. I am happy that my daughter is married to someone she truly loves, I don’t want to give publicity to those fools. There are some donkeys who do anything they feel like, but their actions don’t affect us”. Well, this is the reason why mothers are called best friends because they are happy in your happy times, and give it back, when someone tries to mess with you!
