With a few people getting the privilege to be married in two different wedding ceremonies, Priyanka and Nick had gotten married at a Christian wedding on December 01, 2018, followed by a big fat Hindu wedding on December 02, 2018. While we still haven’t caught a glimpse of clear pictures from Nickyanka’s wedding, a snap clicked from a faraway distance has the beautiful bride decked up in an all-red avatar, going towards her mandap with her bridesmaids. As the picture itself depicts, Priyanka is seen donning a red wedding ensemble, with kalire dangling from her forearms. Here’s a picture that went viral in no time:
And only yesterday (December 03, 2018), we caught the very first glimpse of the newly-wed couple, with their wedding glow evident on their faces. Priyanka looked like a goddess in a teal-blue saree, middle-parted hair left loose, mangalsutra, chooda, sindoor and not to forget, her mehendi-clad hands. But there was something unique about her mehendi. Any guesses as to what it could be? With the latest mehendi trend going about love stories depicted on mehendi, PeeCee’s mehendi design had a guitar drawn on it, thus symbolising her hubby’s profession! Isn’t it super-cool? Nickyanka took to Instagram to post pictures from their sangeet ceremony. Sharing the pictures, Priyanka wrote a heartfelt note which could be read as, “It all began as a fierce song and dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love. Nick and I were looking forward to the sangeet (musical evening), another pre wedding ritual and to see what each side had put together. And what a performance it was. Each family telling our stories through song and dance, filled with lots of laughter and love. We were both filled with gratitude for the effort, the love and the laughter and will carry the memories of this special evening for the rest of our lives. Priyanka’s haldi and mehendi attire was surely the one to watch out for! Looking super colourful, Nickyanka posted beautiful pictures from the ceremony, which PeeCee captioned as, “One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi. Once again we made it our own and it was afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed. @nickjonas.” Here’s one of the pictures from the lot:
Apart from the couple themselves, do you know who must have the happiest on Nickyanka’s wedding? It is none other than PeeCee’s mom, Madhu Chopra! Remember those days when the Quantico star’s mom expressed her concern over her star daughter’s marriage and that, at one point in time, she had given up? In an interview with After Hrs, Madhu Chopra shared that she is glad with Priyanka finally finding the man of her dreams. She had said, “Priyanka has always been ambitious about her career and I was just supporting her and wishing the best for her, as a mother. I used to pester her, but in the last two-three years, I had stopped. I had given up. Yeh sab cheez ka ek time hota hai, it’s all destiny.” She further said, “I told her that I want to meet Nick’s family.”
Priyanka, being an ideal daughter, adhered to her mommy’s wishes. Why do we say so? In the same interview, Madhu ji expressed her desire about the kind of wedding she wants for Priyanka. Speaking about the same, she had stated, “My daughter knew I wanted a roka before the marriage, so she never said ‘no’. I haven’t forced any of my thoughts on her, but I definitely want a traditional Indian wedding. That’s my only wish. I started the roka with a puja, which is important for me. I’m a modern mother but at heart, I’m quite conservative”.
Speaking of her daughter’s choice and Nick, she had revealed, “I always trust Priyanka’s judgment; she’s not impulsive. She gave it a lot of thought and when she decided on something, I was sure it would be good.” Speaking of Nick, she shared, “Nick is calm and mature. He’s a wonderful person and everyone in the family just loves him. He’s so polite and respectful towards elders.
