On the same front, ace Bollywood actresses, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone’s famous cold shoulder to each other, is not unknown to Bollywood buffs. Innumerous accounts of these two actresses getting awkward with each other have ofteh been recorded, especially after they starred in a movie together (Bajirao Mastaani). With both of their weddings happening at the same quarter of the year, hiring same designers, hosting grand bashes and multiple receptions- people got to see quite a lot in common for the ‘once’ rivals.
Yesterday (December 20, 2018), Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas had hosted their third and final wedding reception in Mumbai for their B-town friends. What was much speculated was, if Deepika will turn up for their recption when her manager shared with DBPost, “Yes, she will be attending the reception and was one of the first ones to receive the invite.” Priyanka and Nick’s bash began quite late and all that we were waiting, was to catch a glimpse of the famous Bajirao Mastani trio together, and so they did!
Not only did Deepika and her hubby, Ranveer Singh attend the Nickyanka bash, but they also ensured that they make heads turn! And when Deepika and Priyanka are together in one frame, how can they do without a little bit of Pinga? Weren’t they all amazing? Coming back to Priyanka and Deepika’s ‘once’ arch rivalry, the former was quoted as saying in an interview with a magazine cover, “I thought Deepika and I were friends. Ab competitor ban gayi? I didn't say anything. The way we were, we are still the same. Aapka nazariya badal raha hai.” While Deepika had once added, “Priyanka was the first film person I met when I came here (Mumbai). She was a huge star. I had just joined. She was the first friend I made."
A few days back, a Bollywood Hungama quoted a young filmmaker making some shocking revelations about Bollywood’s Kashibai and Mastaani, “The rivalry between Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone is no secret. For some very strange reason everything that Priyanka gets, Deepika also wants. We don't know why this should be so. Deepika has as much success and stardom as Priyanka. What she doesn't have is Priyanka 's international fame. Now when Priyanka has got herself an American fiancée, Deepika seems to be looking at ways to upstage her arch-rival."
In an interview with Rajeev Masand, the Cocktail star had once cleared all air of things going sour between her and PeeCee and shared, “I personally don’t make anything of it. At a personal level, I know her way too well for any sort of comparison. It feels odd and it feels weird. Even professionally, I think we are both doing extremely well. But our worlds are also completely different. What she wants to achieve and what she’s working towards is very different than what I’m doing. Although it is in the creative space, I think her demands and requirements are in completely different from mine.”
She had further added, “The other thing that I find really strange is… just comparisons to her. I find them bizzare. Okay, even if someone had to compare, I’d understand a comparison with maybe Anushka or a Sonam or a Sonakshi… we came in at the same time. I understand comparisons like that. Priyanka too, was asked in an interview if their friendship has turned sour. To which, she had retrorted, “You (media) said we are friends. Earlier, you all used to write we are BFFs (best friends forever) so how did this change, why and how it changed? I did not say it has changed, you said it has changed. I am clarifying that whatever was earlier it is same today also. Your perspective has changed and that shouldn't have happened.”
Ranveer Singh had once compared Priyanka to khichdi and Deepika, to biryani! Therein, he had shared, “Kashi (Priyanka) is the good wife; Mastani (Deepika) is the seductress. They are playing are different parts. One is homely and the other is a warrior princess. One is khichadi and one is a biryani. But it is a tadke wali khichadi. Lucky Bajirao - he has hot wife and a hot girlfriend (laughs).”
Well, looks like all is well between the actresses now. Phew!
