Prakash Kaur Makes First Public Appearance With Sunny Deol After Her Husband, Dharmendra's Death

Dharmendra's first wife, Prakash Kaur has often made headlines without being in front of the camera. At one point, she was considered to be the strongest pillar of Bollywood's 'He-Man', Dharmendra. For the unversed, Prakash Kaur came to the spotlight after she got married to Dharmendra at the age of 19. Recently, she made her first appearance with son, Sunny Deol, after the tragic death of her husband, Dharmendra.

Sunny Deol helps his mother, Prakash Kaur walk

Recently, a video is going viral on social media, which features Prakash Kaur and her son, Sunny Deol. It is worth mentioning that this is Prakash Kaur’s first appearance after her dear husband, Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025. In the now-viral clip, Sunny Deol is seen holding his mother’s hand and helping her walk to the car. 

The actor was dressed in a grey cargo, yellow checkered shirt over a black T-shirt. He paired it with grey shoes, black cap, and a pair of sunglasses. He also had a bag on his shoulders. On the other hand, Sunny's mother, Prakash Kaur opted for a simple suit, sweater and a shawl. She completed her look with a pair of sunglasses.

Netizens praise Sunny Deol for his caring nature

As soon as the clip of Sunny Deol and his mother, Prakash Kaur went viral, multiple users flooded the comment sections with praises for the Border 2 actor. One user commented, "Best Son." Another user penned, "Beta ho toh Sunny jaisa." A third user wrote, "Luckiest mother she has son like him." A fourth fan shared, "Salute you sunny paji aisa beta bhagwaan sab ko de." A user also commented, "The Deols are really mourning the death of legend Dharmendra."

Prakash Kaur and Dharmendra had an arranged marriage

For those who do not know, Dharmendra tied the knot with Prakash Kaur before he became a superstar in Bollywood. Their marriage was arranged by their families. Dharmendra was only 19-years-old at that time. The couple welcomed four children, Sunny Deol, Vijeta Deol, Ajeeta Deol and Bobby Deol. Later, Dharmendra moved to Mumbai to pursue his acting career, while Prakash Kaur stayed at home. She took care of their children and was Dharmendra's biggest support system. 

Later in the 1970s, Dharmendra met Hema Malini and eventually fell in love with her. In 1980, Dharmendra tied the knot with the 'Dream Girl', while he was legally married to Prakash Kaur. This sparked public controversy. However, in a rare appearance, Prakash Kaur defended her husband and said that any man would be attracted to Hema Malini. Eventually, the Deols and Hema Malini got along together and lived peacefully. 

Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89

Legendary actor, Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. A few days before his tragic death, the veteran actor was hospitalised at Breach Candy Hospital. However, he was soon discharged. After his tragic death, Sunny Deol often made headlines while performing the last rites of his father. The actor was seen lashing out at the paparazzi for recording him at unusual places. During Dharmendra's asthi visarjan, Sunny Deol was spotted losing his temper as he caught a photographer secretly recording him.
